We are new to this area, living in a canyon and were not aware of the potential problems the wind can cause by blowing the smoke back down the chimney, especially when it gusts (30mph winds).

A Kleene Sweep Chimney Service replaced our old wood stove and chimney pipe in our A-Frame house, they did a super job.

Smoke in our house was never a problem until one month after installation when I awoke to the house filled with smoke. I called right away and A Kleene Sweep Chimney Service was there that day to assess the problem.

We decided it was most likely not an inversion problem since the temps had been lower for some time and we did not have a continuous smoke problem, only with the gusty wind.

The next day a crew was out and replaced the cap and added a gasket around the flue pipe where it enters the box in the ceiling for added good measure all of this at their own expense.

I appreciated their quick service and fixing the problem.

All I can say is, had I known that the wind was a potential problem in this area and had I known about the wind cap I would have chosen it at the time of installation which would have saved everyone time and expense.

This company stands by their products and workmanship, the crews are excellent and the owner is a stand up guy that I recommend highly.

I got several bids to do my job. Not only were these guys competitive, they had the credentials I was looking for.They were on time (actually called to say they could come early) made sure I knew how to operate my Vermont Castings stove and left my home as clean as when they arrived! Friendly, professional sweeps!
