I had mold from condensation growing on my wood vaulted living room ceiling. A really nice guy named Doug came out, inspected, and gave me an estimate. I felt the price was very fair. I made an appointment on a Saturday between 8 and 8:30 am when I could be there. The day before the appointment, Britney, the lady who answers the phones there called and asked if they could come earlier. I said no but the next day someone was knocking on my door at 7:40 am. When the crew came in they didn't do what Doug and I had talked about like cover up the stairwell, put drop clothes on the floor, or move furniture. The did put moving blankets on our furniture but still had to constantly move it around as they moved ladders. I was immediately concerned when I noticed one man brushing the wood in a very random manner instead of methodically going board by board to get rid of all of the mold and another man trying to clean the mold with a ladder that was too short and not really being able to reach the top beam and boards good. I decided to call the office and see if I could get the service needed. While the crew leader was on the phone with the office, the youngest worker of the crew who was wiping down boards decides to climb up the back side of a ladder with the small, wide space rungs instead of turning the ladder around and while standing on it tries to hop, skip move it to get closer to the side of the ceiling. He about lost his balance and I'm wondering what kind of experience these guys have. After talking to Mary who did take my two calls seriously, she had Doug call me and then he came out to supervise the job. The crew had to go get another 12' ladder because they only brought one and they had to bring drop clothes for the floor. I also asked them to change rags more frequently because they kept using the same old rag over and over that had a lot of mold on it. It seemed to me that would just be grinding more mold into the wood. They obliged and started using fresh rags as the others ones got dirty. Doug stayed until the job was finished but the crew hadn't taken all of their equipment out. I tipped his crew anyway because I felt like the did a good job even though I had to ask them to do it properly and I didn't want there to be any hard feelings. They left and didn't put all of the furniture back where it went. When my wife came home she noticed that they had scratched our new hardwood floors by sliding the furniture around instead of picking it up. Now, they are trying to blame me and not pay for the damage to my property. The owner was very rude on the phone and offered no apology for all of the trouble. This is a shady business.
