Dr. Holmes is the founding physician of Family Practice Associates of Southern Hills. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, and is Board Certified in Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Holmes is presently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Southern Hills Medical Center. He served as Chief of Staff of Southern Hills Medical Center and President of the Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Holmes is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine (Department of Family Practice) and serves as a preceptor at Vanderbilt University Medical School and Meharry Medical College. Dr. Holmes was honored in 2001 by the Tennessee Academy of Family Medicine with its prestigious Family Physician of the Year award. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Tennessee Academy of Family physicians, American Medical Association and the Nashville Academy of Medicine. Dr. Holmes has been an active member of the Brentwood Community for many years, including service on the Board of Trustees of several local schools, coaching youth activities at the YMCA for 10 years, and serving as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Holmes now resides in Brentwood with his wife. They have three sons and two grandsons and one granddaughter.
