Provided by YP.comiv had HTC internet service at my house for almost 12 years now. I have no other options because my neighborhood signed a contract with them. HTC is a ok internet service provider at best. I have the top tier NETRACER, which uses either DSL or cable. I have had both DSL and Cable and i must say i am not impressed at all. Their download speeds are up to par with the rest of the nation (i Average 9.5 Mbps download), but their upload speeds are FAR below national standards ( I average about .3-.4 mbps). Thats just unacceptable. In the first 5-6 years the customer service was awful, but now it has improved 100%. If you can, go for the DSL, the cable gets to much traffic and becomes slower during peak hours, you don't have to worry about that with DSL. In my honest opinion, their internet should not cost 45$ a month for such low speeds, But in the myrtle beach area thats about average for all providers. The only other options are RoadRunner(TWC) cable,or verizon(frontier) which is the exact same speed. One nice thing about HTC is that its smaller and independent, which means they don't closely monitor your internet usage(if you use torrents). RoadrRunner and Verizon(frontier) will send you a letter and cap your internet if they detect you using torrents. Another good point is that HTC is putting Fiber infrastructure in. Its called BlueWave. Fiber is the ticket if you can get it (WAY FASTER, and a Symmetric connection) and its nice to see HTC is installing it.
