We had great service from Brockhouse back in 2014 when we had a pipe leak at our house. However, when we used them again recently, we found out that ownership is now under the son, Nate. We assumed that the service would be the same, but this turned out to be a bad assumption.

We had the exact same problem with our pipe leaking a few months ago, as we did back in 2014, and back then, Brockhouse came out at a moment's notice, patched it, backfilled the earth, and laid down grass seed and hay. They did so good, you couldn't even tell they were there.

Naturally, we decided to call them again for a separate leak that happened about a month ago:

First, we called Nate to come out and fix it, and he said he would be out within the week to look at it and maybe repair it, however we didn't hear from him until about three weeks later. I told him it wasn't super urgent, but that I wanted it fixed ASAP, so he obviously took gross advantage of the "not super urgent" part.

Second, he didn't have the correct parts on his truck to repair the pipe, so told me he was going to reduce the pipe size down from 1-1/2" to 1" because that's what he had on hand and that 1-1/2" was an "odd size." Nate assured me that I wouldn't know the difference in performance, but I would think that if you own a business that fixes piping, you would have 1-1/2" pipe and associated fittings on hand. His dad certainly did....

Third, the worst part is that he left our property a disaster. Furthermore, he broke up the asphalt to get to the pipe, and I gave him permission to do so, but he took the broken up asphalt and threw it back into the hole. After he was done, he said "Oh, by the way, I wouldn't leave those asphalt chunks in there. They could cause another leak down the road."

Lastly, I tried talking with him, voicing my concerns about leaving my property the way he did, but his response was that he would have to charge me another $500 to clean up the mess and to lay grass seed down, and that "it just wasn't anything he does." I mentioned his dad and the previous service from back in 2014, but Nate was adamant that they never did that in the past and that it would have been him who did it. Someone packed the earth back in and laid grass seed with hay on top, and I"m 100% certain that it wasn't me or my wife so I'd say he is the one that's mistaken.

Since then, we have had around 20 or so people over to our house, from friends and family to clients and delivery drivers, and unanimously everyone has agreed that it looks terrible and that a finished job should never look like this. I've made it clear to everyone that has been over, and everyone I work with, the type of work to expect from Brockhouse.
