- Chastain Excavating is a family owned and operated business. I am a licensed excavating contractor and certified septic installer. I have a son that actually joined me in this business when he was old enough to go to work and I am very fortunate that he loves it as much as I do. My wife is the one who answers the phone and loves to talk to people. I started this business 32 years ago and have adapted and learned many things along the way. My grandfather was a well-known plumbing contractor. I just took equipment and went to another level underground. I loved helping him the way my son has. I do all types of residential and commercial work. What separates me from the rest in this field is that I do all my own work; I consult, design and install.
