Like most mechanics, reviews are usually either perfect or terrible with no in between, however from my experiences, this shop is my absolute go to. They go way above and beyond to treat you fairly and help you out, even if they can't take care of the issue there. They'll take time to answer even the most absurd questions, just so long as you treat them like people, they'll never do any wrong. I could see the times others go in there angry or upset, then off course they're less accommodating. But if you're nice to them, they'll bend over backwards to accommodate and help.

My experience with Morgantown Express Lube has been frustrating and expensive. I would caution all before bringing your car here for service. I initially brought my car because it was making a strange noise. I was informed that my exhaust pipe was the issue but this job could wait. After the noise grew louder and my car was not starting properly, I brought my car back. I was quoted a pretty steep price to "fix" the problems but I was optimistic that this would be the solution and trusted the shop owner with my car. A week later, I got my car back and it was "fixed." It was fixed with a $300 muffler (among many other charges) that was damaged. The shop owner did not inform me of this and it wasn't until I checked the car out at home that I saw the damage. When the shop owner was questioned about this, he said the part was brand new and I would have to talk to the guy who did the job who, of course, was not present to answer our questions. After 48 hours with my car, it died. I had to have it towed back to Morgantown Express Lube where they said I needed a new starter. When asked why they didn't check the starter in the first place, I was given an illogical response. Meanwhile, the shop owner tried to say that I somehow damaged the muffler in the 48 hours the car was in my possession. The shop owner did replace my starter (for a $) and put on a "new" muffler...which came with further frustration when the shop did not have the part in when they told us to come back. I share my story so that others take caution before bringing their car to this shop. My experience was the nightmare everyone hears about from auto mechanics who are dishonest and out for your money. Please consider alternative options before trusting Morgantown Express Lube with your car.

Honest place with fair price.

This place is the real deal. Honest, reasonably priced and skilled staff. I took my car two other places before coming here on a recommendation. While waiting briefly for assistance, I witnessed a customer who needed a tire replaced on a Saturday. He didn't have the tires on site but told her where she could buy them for a reasonable price and what she should expect to pay to have it put it on. He told her if they didn't have time to put it on that day, that she should buy the tire and bring it to him and he would put it on personally for the right price. Already, I was impressed.



When it came to my vehicle, he quickly assessed the issue. The car had originally started overheating and so one place told me I needed a new thermostat. I had it replaced but it didn't solve the issue. Another told me I had a cracked block. Before I bit the bullet on that, I looked to Morgantown Express lube for a second opinion. The technician looked it over and assessed the issue correctly. He was able to replace my water pump and timing belt within two days (and this is NOT a small job). I called around to price it out and his offer was the best. I have not had any issue with my vehicle since then.



What impressed me most about this place was the ownership in their work. They understood that honesty and good service is a business model that works for everyone. They are clearly proud of their work with good reason, and without gouging prices. I doubt you will have to look very far to find another equally satisfied customer.



Please don't make the same mistake I did. Come here first. You will be glad you did.
