Established in Clarksburg, West Virginia in 1896, P.M. Long & Son, Inc. DBA Dyer Insurance Agency is the oldest insurance agency in Harrison County. President and owner Timothy W. Dyer is the fifth generation of this family business. He was joined in 2006 by his nephew, Adam Dyer, who is now the sixth generation working to serve the insurance needs of our clients.Our family agency has grown over the years through partnerships with other family owned independent agencies that share our companys values and vision of customer service. In 2004, Dyer Insurance Agency acquired Heflin Insurance Agency, Inc. of Morgantown, West Virginia. Heflin Insurance Agency was founded in 1974 by Edward A. and Cheryl Heflin of Morgantown. In 2012, our team was joined by Todd Eckels, former Sr. Vice President for Centra Bank. Also this year we are proud to announce the acquisition of another long time Morgantown independent agency, Bowers & Scott Insurance Agency. The additions of the Heflin and Bowers & Scott agencies has allowed the Dyer Insurance Group to further strengthen our ability to provide insurance solutions to meet the needs of our clients. Our Morgantown operations have been renamed to reflect both the heritage of our company and the welcome addition of our new partners.Another exciting addition to the group also took place in 2012. The acquisition of Douglas Insurance Services in Buckhannon, West Virginia furthered strengthened our ability to service the needs of our clients. Douglas Insurance Services has been serving the insurance needs of the citizens and businesses of Upshur County since 1981.
