Me and my friend who was visiting from DC went in here. I found the cuteest sewater/jacket thing and was trying to take off my sweater, hold my purse, and try it on and a salesgirl asked me if I needed help and held my purse and sweater for me while I tried it on... loved it and love the fact that it was only 10 bucks and had the original tags on it... my friend got a shirt as well and they let me try on some of the Kangol hats behind the counter... we spent 18 bucks and some change and got 3 items.... were treated really well, and I loved that they are a green business... who needs the bags anyways?!

I have visited several more times since my previous review and I continue to be impressed with this Plato's Closet location. Yesterday I visited and found 2 Coach purses and a Harajuku Lovers bag, all very reasonably priced and in GREAT condition. Last week I got a Coach wallet for $15. Awesome. I have also met the owner and have not had any problems with her -- in fact, she has been nothing but friendly and always rounds up when stamping my frequent buyer card.

Even though I swore to never return in my last review, I gave Plato's Closet another chance and was pleasantly surprised. I took in several items to sell and made some decent money. Their clothing is stylish and looks brand new. The staff was much friendlier than the last time I was in (2009) so I'm hopeful that the negative reviews they got really made an impression. They still size you up when you walk in the door, but insteading of yelling that your stroller (and therefore your kids) isn't welcome, they politely ask if you'd like any help. Well done, Plato's Closet. I'll be back to shop for myself, and for my son's back-to-school wardrobe. $10 jeans can't be beat!

Had a goodtime here, found a nice bags ($10) dress and forever 21 colorful mini sweater ($4). The older lady was there, but she was very nice to me... I asked her about the $2.00 nail polishes and makeup and she was extremely personable.

Although I didn't purchase anything from the store I give it high stars for the amazing job at keeping the place clean and organized. I must admit that even for a second hand shop they keep the place better organized than some stores at a mall. Of course female shoppers are crazy and like to touch anything even if it's not their size or style. Parking lot is smaller than most but there is plenty of street parking and it's located right next door to a Baskin Robins. I'm not sure about you but shopping and ice-cream? Uhh yes please!

Finally! Went to Plato's closet with my single used and not used clothes and accessories today. I dreaded visiting this place coz of the previous reviews. As soon as I get there, the lady that seems to be in charge greeted me and asked me if it was my first time being there. She told me how it works and that I can either sit or browse through their collections while I wait, which I did. So many good stuff! The place was neat and organized! The other staff was also nice and accomodating :) It wasn't even a long wait. All in all, it was a great and pleasant experience for me esp it was my first time being here and oh yeah, I got me a nice large purse and some cash! (~.~)

how embarrassing...

I've been to this store a couple of other times and fairly enjoyed my experience. But it only takes one terrible experience to blow it for me.

It was a fairly warm day outside. I was carrying a water bottle with me to stay hydrated. I walked into the store with one of my girl friends, eying things to try on. We were there for about 10 minutes. Then, this chubby, older blond woman walks up to me and rudely states that there aren't food or beverages allowed in the store. First of all, I didn't see any sign stating the fact. But since I was so astounded by her barbarous gesture all I could muster was a pitiful "uhh uhh, I'm... sorry" and let her hold it for me behind the counter. She was very abrasive and in my face and I didn't appreciate it at all. I eyed her at the counter a few more times as I continued shopping and she looked so bitter and uptight it was starting to make me feel uncomfortable. She was watching me too! I felt I was being profiled. I have facial jewelry so it happens. To make matters worse I collect what I've picked out to try on and a young male employee looks at my arm where I am clearly holding 3 separate garments and says "I need to see the tags" before I go in to the dressing room. Whatever. I try everything on and decide I don't like what I've picked out. I come out and to my surprise a female employee is waiting outside the door for me. At this point I feel I'm being hovered over and I'm not happy about it.

I hand her my clothes without a word and grab my water bottle from the counter. The owner demands in a condescending, pseudo-friendly barbaric tone that I "have a nice day".

I was so distressed by the encounter I called the next day to have a word with her. I told her I felt I was treated disrespectfully and that before that experience, I liked shopping there. She apologizes for me for feeling the way I did and NOT for her actions, and that she treats every customer the same way. She talked self-righteously with me, stating that she runs her business like any other retailer. She was extremely rude and continuously talked over me. I work in retail so I figured I could at least help her see eye to eye with me. Especially since I know what it's like to have a bad day. I think I pissed her off pretty badly because she demanded that I "have a nice day" and hung up on me.

I'm never stepping foot in there again. Don't support bad customer service.
