Union Academy is an academic institution founded in 1991 that offers lower, middle and upper schools. The school offers classes in various subjects, including social studies, mathematics, science, computer technology, English, music, art, Spanish and physical education. Its athletics department provides several sports activities, such as basketball, baseball, cheerleading, cross county, golf, softball, soccer, track and volleyball. The academy has various clubs for students that include book, cheerleading spirit squad, chess, fighter s guild, junior civitan, Odyssey of Mind, Spanish and teens for Christ clubs. The school also offers a media center, library, and computer and science labs. Union Academy is a charter school subscriber member of the National Association of Independent Schools and is located in Monroe, N.C.
