Dr. Omar is a recipient the Stephen Mahaley Jr. MD Award for Translational Research at UAB Neurosurgery’s 37th Annual J. Garber Galbraith, MD Scientific Session and Lecture. He was also awarded UAB Neurosurgery’s inaugural Jacob R. Lepard MD Award for Outstanding PGY-2 Resident Consultant in Neurosurgery. Dr. Omar’s research on a variety of neuroscience topics has been widely published, and he has co-authored multiple chapters in academic textbooks.
