WAY too expensive for the meager amount of food. $9 per person for a shared cheese fondue, $25 per person for a small amount of meat and about a tablespoon each of 6 different dips. The salad was also a la carte. At over $200 for 4 people, it was a waste of money. Although the server was competent, he was insistent that we order dessert, even though we explained that we had a birthday cake waiting at home (we did not get dessert, in spite of his efforts). A coworker asked if the ambiance was good... not really. Seating is in booths, and the atmosphere was just OK. Would not go here again. I would give the Melting Pot zero stars if I could, but the minimum is one star.

I frequent quite a few restaraunts. Not to "tute my own horn", but I consider myself a very exceptional reviewer. I have industry knowledge from both management and employee standpoints. I worked in quite a few places while attending school. I can say that the Melting Pot has exeptional service. I have been there four times and have never had a bad server. It is usually quite the opposite. The servers are well trained and picked out. They are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The experience is fantastic. I mean really, who wouldn't enjoy fondu? The food is average, and small in portion for the price. The menu lacks both variety and since there are no chefs, originality. Everything is prepped, from the portions to the add-ons. What makes this a good experience is your open-mindedness to an extremely original dining style. The bar prices are very high, however, this is located in down town Minneapolis. I would recomment The Melting Pot for special occasions, however, not for a business style dinner where you need to pay attention to details. They are designed for fun and romance, not for elagance and business. I read the previous reviewers experience, and I can believe what she wrote. I too have been rushed out by management after a meal. I think that it is something that they have to work on. There is no reason to make a patron leave because you haven't taken into consideration staff, or simply overbooked reservations. I would like to think that something should have been comped, or at least a giftcard or voucher given. I think what she ran into was simply put terrible management.
