The Community Services Department, governed by the City of Bloomington, Mich., fosters opportunities for residents to become independent and contributing members of the community. It operates communication, human service, parks and recreation and public health divisions. The department s recreational facilities include the Bloomington Center for the Art, Family Aquatic Center and Bush Lake Beach. The Community Services Department s divisions negotiate and monitor cable television franchise and improve the lives of residents by identifying needs and resources. In addition, it provides clinical, health care and emergency services. The department also has an ice garden that has three rinks and a seating capacity for more than 2,000 individuals.
