My furnace quit working NEEDED A IGNITER BUT NOT A GOLD PLATED ONE !

My furnace was on the blink and I needed someone to come and fix it, I looked online and found this company, I talked to a lady on the phone and told her I was sure it was the igniter but just wanted a tech to come and do the work, She said they charged 108.00 just to come out to the house and that after they found the problem that money would be put towards the bill,So the tech came out to fix the furnace it was the owner of the company,I told him that I thought it was the igniter, He checked it and yes he said it was the igniter,Removed 1 screw and it was out in a minute, He went out to his truck to get one, I waited and waited finally he came back in 20 minutes later and said he did not have the one I needed, but one of his other drivers was close and would drop one by.So we waited the other driver showed up 10 minutes later with the igniter, It took one more minute to put in the new one. When he was done he handed me a bill for 252.00, I was shocked and said I would not pay that much, and went on to explain what the lady his wife come to find out...... had told me about the 108.00 dollars, He siad the part was 72.00 I found one for 26.00 online, He said the job was 174.00 dollars labor and he would wave the 30 dollar freight fee for the guy dropping off the part what a joke Legal robbery is what he was trying to do to me . Then I said I would not pay the unfair price he asked what I would pay? I said 175.00 was still to much but I would pay that he said he would take 200.00 and so to avoid anymore conflict I paid him 200.00. This was a very bad experience and I recommend you stay as far away from this company as you can. WOW !

Poor service and unwilling to stand behind their work

The AAM technician arrived on time and after cursory inspection of the dishwasher declared the problem to be a broken pump/motor that was sitting at an angle and leaking water into the base of the dishwasher. When I inquired about repair I was told specifically that, if even possible, repair costs would be nearly the cost of the dishwasher itself. The entire exchange took less than 15 minutes and I was informed that, since the problem was due to shipping damage, I owed $94 for the service. That dire diagnosis led directly to a prolonged battle with Bosch (the manufacturer) and AppliancesConnection (the seller) in which neither party would accept responsibility and we were caught in the middle. In addition to having to buy a replacement dishwasher my wife and I spent over 100 hours dealing with Bosch, Appliances Connection, the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General's Office, and Visa. After nine grueling months of fighting with no resolution I finally took it upon myself to inspect the faulty dishwasher to see if anything could be salvaged. To my complete shock, after less than one hour of research and work I had the dishwasher working perfectly. The pump and mount were in no way "damaged", as I had been told by the AAM tech, but were simply out of place and not secured properly. When I re-positioned the pump and secured it using the provided rubber straps the dishwasher worked perfectly. After this revelation I decided I should call AAM and give them a chance to rectify the situation. After explaining the horrific 9-month ordeal and significant financial expense (purchasing a second dishwasher) that AAM's misdiagnosis had caused I was told that they would not even issue a refund of my $94. Their reasoning for this was that too much time had passed since the service call.I believe given the fact that I was able to successfully repair the dishwasher in less than an hour, with absolutely no prior knowledge on the subject, that the AAM technicians misdiagnosis borders on incompetence. The fact that they were then completely unwilling to offer even the most trivial compensation for the awful situation they had a hand in creating makes it that much worse.I must recommend that others avoid this AAM and opt instead for a company more skilled and willing to stand behind their work.
