Eichelbergers is one of the largest drilling companies in the northeastern United States. The company was founded in 1946. It provided well drilling and water systems for local residential customers. The wells were drilled using cable tool drilling rigs. In 1960, the company purchased the first air rotary rig in operation in the central Pennsylvania area. The air rotary rigs it later bought were larger and equipped with additional capabilities. Eichelbergers then expanded into the commercial market. Larger wells were constructed for public water supply, industry and irrigation projects. Eichelbergers is located in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
