Our Mission Our mission is simple, it is to ensure that all of our students have a great experience while they learn new dance techniques, styles, and gain self confidence. We will provide our students with a fun filled, warm and friendly atmosphere so they can achieve personal growth and success. Teachers Our teachers are skilled, trained, professionals with tremendous talent. They have all studied dance at the college level and continue to train and learn form the best instructors that Broadway has to offer. They all posses the skills, patience, and understanding to advance our students to reach their personal goals while supporting their efforts. Our competition/company teachers have provided our students with the ability to win award after award at the highest levels with their unique dance styles and techniques. Our award winning Pop & Lock teacher brings an amazing new style of dance that combines many styles such as Hip Hop, Break Dancing, Lyrical, and Jazz, all while working in a theatrical setting. This style of dance can be seen on shows such as "Americans Best Dance Crew" and "So You Think You Can Dance". Staff In keeping with our family atmosphere, our administrative staff is small and intimate. This ensures personal attention to all our students- needs and concerns. Our administrative staff consists of Lydia Magaddino, Owner/Director, and Miss Carmen Andino, our Administrative Assistant. Lydia, is an active member of the Massapequa community, school district, and a Parent Advocate who has promoted and pushed for many programs that foster and provide for academic and social growth in our students. She is also a student of many years of dance. Carmen, our Administrative Assistant has experience working in a dance studio setting and a long history of working within major financial institutions. Studio Appearance A Step Above Performing Arts Inc. has a fresh, modern, appearance. The studio has all new Broadway type lighting, close circuit cameras that allow parents to observe our younger students in class, creative wall colors that promote and encourage dance and movement, central air-conditioning, new windows, doors and lockers. Our waiting room/office is a comfortable space for our students and parents to share.
