The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team is comprised of volunteers who work through the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department. The team conducts searches for missing persons throughout Contra Costa County, Calif. It also assists other search teams during mutual aid call outs. In addition, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team assists with evidence searches at crime scenes and medical services at large public events, such as county fairs. The team supports a Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) that teaches volunteer groups to assist in the initial response to earthquakes and other disasters. The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team is located in Martinez, Calif.
