Here's a rip off warning for everyone. I went to Palmetto Outdoor Power Equipment in Manning last week because I was having trouble with the carb on my gas powered post hole digger. I needed to use it so I ask them if they could fix it while I was there. They said leave it and they would fix it as soon as they could. Less than an hour later they called and said it was ready and I went and got it. They said they removed the carb and cleaned it and I would soon need a new carb. They said to leave the choke about half open and it would run fine. After paying 77.00 dollars the auger didn't run worth a crap so I chalked it up to the carb and dug all the holes by hand. Yesterday I pulled the carb off myself, never having worked on a small engine , and realized the carb has never been taken off. There were very few parts on it and within 30 minutes I had the whole thing cleaned and running like a champ.I called the owner this morning and he then told me that they were mistaken when they said the carb had been taken off but they had cleaned it. The only way to clean it is to take it off. Two small screws and the carb is in your hand, six more small screws and the thing is in pieces. If they had of done what they said they did I wouldn't complain one bit about paying the bill but I hate theives. I don't know what happened with Mr. Mullen and his auger, but I have always received outstanding service from Palmetto Outdoor Power Equipment, Manning.
