I cannot express my displeasure with this company enough! I experienced a quote that turned out to be less than half of the bill, overcharging, completing less than half of the agreed job, loss of furniture items during a 10 block move, and a manager who insulted my wife's intelligence and basically told me to go "pound sand," when I called with billing questions, I must suggest that EVERY SERVICEMEMBER AVOID THIS COMPANY FOR DTY AND LOCAL MOVES. Bailey Moving quoted $420 for a local move, charged $870, did not complete the agreed upon services, and lost furniture pieces. Bailey Moving was hired to move two bedrooms, a partial garage, and consolidate a smaller storage from a residence into a larger storage unit within a 7 minute drive. The quoted price by the sales representative was 4 hours of work for 2 men and a supplied moving truck at $120.00/hour. The representative declined to come to the house for a more accurate assessment and the quote was made from the educated guess of the client (who has over 20 years experience in moving homes). All items were boxed and stacked for ease of movement by hand truck, conveniently separated, and all moving blankets for wrapping 4-5 pieces of furniture were supplied by me. There were no large objects and all moving was done by hand truck without stairs or obstructions. The same move had been accomplished by my father-in-law and me in approximately 3 hours after 15 hours of driving cross country. My wife was on-site throughout the move and noticed extremely long breaks throughout the moving process. The job started at 0815L and she became worried about the pace of the move by 1215L (the 4 hour quote from the company) when the job was less than half complete. She informed them that they were going over their agreed time and the movers rushed the loading of the truck. Even with the rush, the movers were only able to download the loaded truck items into the large, empty storage unit in an extremely unorganized fashion. Boxes in the back half of the unit were stacked only 2 high and the front of the unit was filled to the rafters with an assortment of boxes. Not only was the agreed upon smaller storage unit not consolidated into the larger unit, but the inefficient packing job made it impossible for the client to do this himself. The final invoice price, despite the $480 quote for 4 hours of work, was $870 for 2 men at $120/hr from 0815L to 1430L, a total of 6 hours 15 minutes. This should equal $750 total (6X120/hr=$720 +1/4hr @ $30= $750), or even $840 if the company charged a full hour for every minute over the hour (7X$120=$840). Instead, the invoice according to the mover's math was $870 ($30-$120 unsubstantiated extra charge). The company invoice does not indicate taxes, special fees, etc... to specify the extra charges, nor were they disclosed during the quote or the move. When contacted over the billing error and the nearly 100% increase over the quoted time of 4 hours, the manager, Tim, stated that since my wife had signed the contract after the move and that I had no recourse but to pay. When I informed Tim that only half the job was completed and that 2X the quoted man hours were used, he blamed my wife with being indecisive and the weather for being muddy. When i informed him that I would be going to the Staff Judge Advocate with a complaint, he basically told me that they work with the Army all the time and that he didn't care. I assume that these guys do a lot of PCS and deployment/storage moves, so they really don't care about individual Soldiers.I have lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will be talking with JAG and 1ID about adding them to a "do not use" list. SERVICEMEMBERS, DO NOT USE! They are the most expensive in the JC/Manhattan area and there are MANY other alternatives out there. It's a shame...

Provided by YP.comI just got off the phone with Bailey Moving after talking to their manager, Tim, and need to inform anyone, specifically MILITARY, NOT TO USE this moving company. First, the company does not send a rep to your house for an estimate, they simply make a ball park guess as to the price and then claim that you misinformed them later. The quote that was given my wife was 4 hours to move two bedrooms, a small amount from the garage, and to consolidate my old 10 X 15 storage unit into a larger one. Everything was boxed and organized specifically for quick movement by a hand truck, with the exception of 2-3 pieces of furniture. I supplied all blankets and everything was pre-packed in good quality boxes. This is a move that my father and I accomplished with a hand truck in 3 hours after a 14 hour cross country trip to Fort Riley.
I just received a bill for $870, the storages were not consolidated, mud was tracked all through my downstairs, and the moving time was over 2 X the quote. When the manager was questioned, I was informed that my wife (pregnant) had already signed the paperwork at the end of the job, so I have no recourse but to pay. Additionally, he seemed to have a prepared response for all of my objections as if they were expecting problems. This leads me to believe that this company is used to working on large contracts and does not care at all about the complaints of smaller consumers.
When informed that I would be talking to the Staff Judge Advocate, Tim said that he works with the Army all of the time and that he didn't care. As a result, I will be contacting JAG, the Better Business Bureau, and every review board that I can find. Had it not been for his uncaring attitude or if he'd made any attempt to work with me, I would have let this go.
I RECOMMEND TO EVERY SOLDIER LOOKING TO DITY PCS OR LOCAL MOVE NOT TO USE THESE BAILEY MOVING AND STORAGE AT ALL COSTS. As Servicemembers, we are often put in the difficult position of having to just pay so that we can get on with our careers and moves, but we absolutely should not expect to get exploited by greedy, uncaring, unpatriotic companies. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR!!!

We used this company to move scientific equipment into Kansas State University and the researcher that ordered the equipment was very satisfied. We have used them several times, based on that pleasant experience.
