I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this establishment. After searching the Internet for a stylist, I contacted the owner, Kahdijah and scheduled an appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, no receptionist was present and no one greeted me at first or acknowledged me. So, I sat down. Then, a stylist from the back of the shop, while curling a customer's hair, hollared out to the front, "Hello". I said hi and continued to sit. There were 3 women already seated and I prayed that they all were not before me. After 15min., the door opened and a woman walked in carrying a bag of white towels. So, I perceived that she worked there. Surprisingly, she came in, did not speak and proceeded to go to the back. When she returned in a couple of minutes, she went to the computer, typed something and directed one of the ladies to go sit in a chair in the back to be based. Then, without saying hello still, she looked at me and said, "What's your name?" After I told her my name, She asked me what I was having done. After, I told her what I was having done and with whom, she responded okay and continued with something else. So, I asked her about how much longer my wait would be. She responded, "About 30 min." I asked her, "Why?" She seemed surpised and said, "Why?" I responded, "Yes, I am asking why because I had an 11:30 appt. and I have already waited for 20min. She said, "Because she is finishing up on someone's hair and she has another person to give a relaxer to before you." I responded, "I'm leaving". She asked, "Would you like to reschedule?" I said, "No" and I left.

I was so disappointed and felt disrespected. The website for this shop is so nice and inviting. It mentions that their goal is to "always provide you with the best in products and quality services". I drove 50minutes to come to this shop and there was no care shown; no apologies given; no efforts made to "not lose me as a customer".

To my best friend, I would say this: I learned many lessons through this experience. One important lesson is how as Christians, as business owners, employees and such, we can forget what it took for us to get there. We can become so careless in our love, courtesy and respect that it doesn't matter if one soul is lost, one customer is lost, one employee quits and such. It reminded me to continue to treat people with the great level of dignity and respect that we would like to be treated with. As I sat there, I saw a plague that said, this business was prayed over in a certain year. Perhaps, this shop was a Christian shop. Don't know. If so, I do know that the Bible says to be careful how you entertain strangers becaue some have entertained angels unaware. Am I an angel? No. I am a person and deserved better treatment than what I received today.

I was going to send a letter to Ms. Kahdijah sharing my feelings about the experience but I sincerely believe that it wouldn't make a difference. Therefore, I decided to respond by writing this review. I will never bad name people. I am praying for her and for the shop. She missed her blessing today and I sincerely hope that she will not allow this to happen to anyone else.

I cannot give this shop a recommendation and am giving it a one star rating.

Sincerely Disappointed,

First Lady H.
