CapTel is a product of Ultratec that offers customized telephone technologies for people with hearing disability. CapTel is a telephone technology that allows people to receive word-for-word captions of their telephone conversations. The product has several features, such as an amplified handset, tone control for clarity and simultaneous appearance of captions with the spoken words. It also has the ability to review captions during or after a call and ability to caption external voice answering machine messages. Additionally, CapTel offers audio jacks for several types of assistive listening devices, such as neck loops, cochlear implant, patch cord, headset and microphone.
