Established in 1976 and located in Lynn, Mass., Greater Lynn Senior Services is a nonprofit agency that provides social services to meet the needs of seniors and disabled individuals in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus, and Swampscott areas in the state. The center offers a wide range of home care services, including homemaking, personal care, heavy chores, grocery shopping, personal emergency response systems, adult day health programs, and respite care for caregivers. It also provides meal services providing nutritionally balanced diet, as well as kosher, Latino, low-lactose, renal, and heart healthy menus. The center offers a broad array of advocacy services, such as protective services, elder legal services program, long-term care ombudsman, and older battered women s program. Its Older Battered Women s program provides assistance to senior women, who are victims of partner abuse by providing confidential counseling throughout the North Shore. It also provides transportation assistance services to its residents.
