While living in Lubbock during college I took my jetta here a couple times to get serviced. I recently moved from Houston to Colorado and during the drive, I realized my aux radio button was not working. After looking up the issue online, I found it was a common problem after having your battery replaced that your aux button may not come on. All answers online say you have to reset the radio and reset the radio code. I took my car to Gene Messer while I was driving through Lubbock to get it fixed. After they had my car for an hour they called to tell me the radio was faulty and there was no way to fix the aux button. I tried showing them all the solutions online and they said they would not be able to reset the radio since it was faulty. The only solution was to buy a new $700 radio! Nope not gonna do that, I stopped at the Volkswagen dealership in Colorado Springs, told them the problem showed them online what everyone said to do. They fixed my radio within 10 minutes and didn't even charge me because it was such a simple fix! After being a "loyal" customer at Gene Messer during my college career I was very surprised and aggravated that they didn’t even listen to any other solutions and wanted me to just buy a new $700 radio.
