The repair work was adequate at best. He wanted his check promptly. He did not give a tax ID number or social security number for the 1099 sent at the end of the year. When I call him, he hangs up on me then stops answering the phone. The IRS wants their tax money.

Same story as everyone else. He lies. They come out and are doing others in the neighborhood. Push you into an immediate answer and start work within 2 minutes, tearing up the old driveway. When I confronted him with horrible on line reports, he claimed that his brother was on drugs and wouldn't respond to calls. When you call to complain about cracks, he promises to come out "this week" but never shows (multiple calls). When confronted with fact that someone claiming to be his brother says they'll be out, he says that he doesn't have a brother. Insists on payment by check made out to him personally (not corporate name). No credit cards so you don't have the recourse of disputing thru the credit card company. Driveway cracked within first month; he says he can't be responsible for "ground settling" but he'll come out and look at it. Never shows up. Save your money--run from this guy and hire a reputable company.

Same story. 4months I called twice a week he wont come out to look at heavy cracking that happened within a week. Lies and says he will come out. Never shows. Con artist. Says he just so happens to have a truckload ,throws out a high price,you say no, he comes down a thousand....im ashamed of my self for falling for this guys lies and scam. Made the check out for 7,000 to him. One of my.customers had a similar experience in lagrange ky....exact same con game. My fault,I shouldnt have let myself get snookered. Beware.

Don't waste your time or money with The Asphalt Guy. I was impatient for a driveway, and other contractors I talked to were busy and would be awhile getting to me. The Asphalt Guy was in the neighborhood and could do it next day so I went with that, and have regretted it! They did not put any rock down where they told me they would for a base, and my drive is already developing cracks and weeds are already pushing through it! And YES, as another reviewer has stated, they want you to write the check to them personally, instead of the company. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE if you want a quality job!

Don't call them...they'll show up at your house when they're in your area. They'll offer you a great deal but refuse to put it on paper, back you in a corner to decide right this second and before you know it you're out a few grand. The guy has you write the check to him personally. All that, and my neighbor told me later that they had been parked at my house most all day waiting for someone to get home. I think a reputable place puts all quotes on paper and the payment should be issued to the company, not to someone personally. Beware!
