At Freedom Training Group, we are committed to being the preeminent training provider in the Louisville metropolitan area for safe firearms use for recreation, competition, personal protection, and home defense. Our business is TRAINING and the cornerstone of our training is SAFETY. We train you safely, properly, and legally throughout each of our seminars, courses, shooting clinics, special events, and one-on-one lessons. If owning a firearm is part of your personalized protection strategy, we will teach you and your family the skills to keep and bear arms in accordance with these principles.

Our trainees are like-minded men and women from all walks of life with varying age and life experiences. Working together fosters a well-rounded training environment. Many students attend our basic pistol courses with the goal of training to meet the requirements for obtaining a Kentucky Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapons (Kentucky CCDW) License. Others want to develop and improve marksmanship skills for recreational or competitive shooting, personal protection, or home defense.

Freedom Training Group instructors conduct Kentucky CCDW license training classes at several indoor and outdoor classrooms and range facilities in the Louisville metropolitan area. Our seminars, classes, shooting clinics, and private lessons accommodate groups, individuals, and special needs. If appropriate to the subject matter, we can bring classes to your site if you want to host a program for employees and/or family members.

Freedom Training Group instructors utilize curricula mandated, approved or developed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky or governmental law enforcement and military agencies, and nationally-recognized non-public organizations. All seminars, classes, and shooting clinics are appropriate for private lessons, one-on-one coaching, flexible scheduling, groups, individuals, and special needs. Programs are gender-neutral and we routinely schedule women-only classes. For additional information about any of our programs, please visit our dedicated training pages.

Our Instructors

Freedom Training Group instructors and range safety officers are highly skilled training professionals with extensive law enforcement, military, and private sector backgrounds. Our instructors are accredited to teach multiple disciplines by the U.S. Government, Commonwealth of Kentucky, and other agencies. Staff hold certifications from numerous organizations including the National Rifle Association, U.S. Practical Shooting and International Defensive Pistol Associations, and International Practical Shooting Confederation.
