Dr. Ugradar grew up in London, England. He originally trained as an internist, gaining the highest marks on the board exams. He later went on to train in ophthalmology at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, United Kingdom, where he was awarded a gold medal for research. Following his training in the UK, Dr. Ugradar completed a research fellowship at UCLA with Dr. Robert Alan Goldberg, MD, Bert O. Levy Endowed Chair in Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Disease. This work led to the invention of novel devices that have gained patents in the United States. Dr Ugradar was given the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) award for research in 2020. Dr. Ugradar sees comprehensive and oculoplastic patients at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Westwood, as well as the Stein Eye Centers in Calabasas and Santa Monica. Dr. Ugradar has published multiple papers and book chapters in the field of oculoplastics, and he is a reviewer for numerous journals. His laboratory research focuses on thyroid eye disease and cosmetics, including the use of Botulinum Toxin and fillers
