I was invited to visit the Los Angeles Public Library by the Red Circle Project for an event that was put on through LA Made which is a company that puts on regular events for the library.

This event featured Janet Mock who is Transgendered who has had a very successful life and she made a very nice seech followed by a question and answer session.

In Addition: Janet Mock also wrote a book that she was promoting as well!

I want to personally Thank Michelle Enfield from The Red Circle Project for inviting ME to the event back on Monday, October 16, 2017.

I want to also personally Thank Janet Mock for taking the time out of her very busy schedule for giving a very educational lecture as well.

Lastly, I want to personally Thank the staff at the Downtown Los Angeles Public Library for also assisting in showcasing the event.

Sincerely yours,

The building is exquisite, particularly the absolutely gorgeous children's section. Being downtown, there are a LOT of homeless people hanging out inside and out, sometimes looking at skeevy things on library computers. Being so big, this place can be hard to navigate, but staff is (generally) good about pointing you in the right direction.

Beautiful building with a great history behind it. You can rent more than book, they also have lots of DVDs for rent.

Tour the Library too

If you are going to the Los Angeles Public Library check out the docent-led tours around 12 noon every day. It is a wonderful experience. Even if you don't have children, be sure to see the Children's department. The furnishings are fabulous and make you want to read your favorite bedtime story again.
