I have to admit, I have not hi...

I have to admit, I have not hit every shot perfectly since I took a few lessons with Scott, but I certainly understand better what I am doing to create good and not quite so good shots. While it might be convenient to blame Scott for my bad shots, we all know better. I can report to lowering my handicapp by a few strokes and I am hopeful for more. It seems that while there may be easy answers to the golf swing questions, there are no easy formulas for never messing up. This is a complicated and intricate game that I am trying to learn to play late in life. Scott's teaching and advise clearly has helped me focus on the parts of my game that needed to be reworked. I can report that I have had career rounds for low scoring since working with Scott on my swing. I finally broke par for a nine hole outing even if it required sinking two chips from off the green and 3 25-40 foot putts all in the same round. It was spectacular to see everything I aimed at the hole to fall in that night. I'm still giddy and I never have to be so nervous again when I get the chance to perhaps shoot par again. Anyway, I think Scott is a fine teacher. As a USPTA professional tennis teacher it is easy for me to recognize his teaching talent. His observation, simplicity of task orientation to growth, and computer aided cd video analysis have all contributed to what has been a very worthwhile experience for me. I hope to put some more of his insight to work as soon as I have integrated what I am already working on. Anyone who wants to play better golf might consider stopping by his acadamy.

Incredible Instruction

I met Scott Janus through the General Manager of Grand Haven Golf Club. Being a long time average golfer with glimpses of greatness intertwined with very poor recent play, I finally felt the need to consult a professional. I had previously never had a lesson although thought about doing it for many years. My previous apprehension was really based on a perceived lack of time and the ability to find an instructor who really could asses my swing and make meaningful changes that could bring my game back to life.

A few things that I really liked about Scott were his positive outlook and his relaxed demeanor. He's intelligent and very knowledgeable but in an unassuming way. Scott is a very good communicator that puts the student at ease and eliminated my initial objections regarding taking lessons in the past. That being first, in a very short time, Scott was able to dissect my swings flaws and put into motion a simple yet effective and comprehensive plan to allow me to be as good as I desired to be. Secondly, Scott was able to explain that through his system if I were able to devote a minimum of 15 minutes a week, I could work on my individualized plan to reach my goals.

While I'm very new to Scott's instruction, I shot a 77 yesterday at a course that I've struggled to break 87 over past two years. Bottom-line, this is all the encouragement I need to validate that Scott's instruction has totally helped me already.

Thanks Scott-

Barry R.

Great Return on Investment

After 30+ years of golfing I finally broke down and decided to invest in some lessons. Scott Janus was highly recommended by some of my friends so I decided to give it try. After just my first lesson I was hitting the ball straighter & with more distance. I'm on lesson 6 and have hit about 50+ bags of balls...and just recorded my best score ever at +1...at Grand Haven, which can be a pretty tough course. Scott has the ability to quickly analyze my weaknessess and provide simple, logical fixes without completely redifining my existing swing. I've golfed too long and am too busy to have to start from scratch again with my game. I couldn't be happier with my progress so far and highly recommend Janus Golf for anyone that loves the game.

great learning experience

I had a series of lessons that cost less than a new driver. I still play with all my same old clubs, but have the best game ever. The lessons were recorded onto a dvd for me to take home, which I refer to often. Improving takes practice, but the visual aid of the dvd's accelerate it. I was given several drills to practice that are designed to improve my swing tendancies. I reccomend the Janus Golf Academy to anyone who wants to enjoy the game.
