Very Nice!!



We stayed here for a couple nights, as our apartment was not ready yet. The hotel is very stylish and modern inside and out. Our room was extremely nice, with the comfortable bed and nice pillow. The bed and furniture was quite comfortable and somewhat upscale. There are numerous dining options nearby. Hollywood Palms Inn & Suites is one of our favorite. Highly recommended.

The bad:

-No WIFI in our first room, so we had to switch to a room closer to the main office. Still the internet did not work well, it was very slow and had little reception.

-Nails, staples, and uneven wood sticking out of our bed frame that my boyfriend scraped his leg on! The hotel staff knew of this issue prior to us finding out about it, and did nothing to fix it!

-There's a thick board nailed to each side of the bed to prevent the mattress from sliding off. It's in the way when trying to get into bed, and I bumped my knees on it.

-The microwave, refrigerator, and television were plugged into ONE outlet WITHOUT a surge protector. We saw it spark at one point... Not safe!

-Our bathroom door had a huge crack down the side of it, with slivers of wood sticking out. The hotel staff "fixed" it with scotch tape!!!! Really???

-The bathroom door opens and just barely misses the toilet. There is no space in there, it's poorly designed.

-There are not enough parking spaces for all of the guests. I was instructed to park in the back of the building, in a dark alley, where I bottomed out my car. He told me to park there repeatedly after I told him it did not make me comfortable and that is a rental car that I would be damaging.

-Upon checking into the hotel, a $20 cash deposit was mandatory, even after paying with my credit card and putting it on file. I'm not accustomed to doing this.

-Upon checking out, I did not remember to ask about my $20 deposit, assuming that he would have given it back to me AUTOMATICALLY. He did not. I drove 2 hours away and realized I did not get my money back. I called and asked for it to be credited to my credit card or mailing it me. He refused. His lame excuse: "I can't." Really???

-The hotel manager yelled, cursed, and insulted me after he refused to give me back my deposit, which I deserved. That prompted me to inform him that his hotel operations were terrible and I've never stayed at such a horrible place.



The good:

-The location is on Sunset Blvd. and is pretty close to many places people enjoy going to.





DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I should have listened to the bad reviews warning me not to stay there. I only stayed there for one night and switched rooms once, almost a second time but we were already inconvienced with having to move all of our things into a room that would actually connect to WIFI, but very slowly. The following night we stayed in a room elsewhere in California, that was LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE OF THIS HOTEL, and was WAY better, with no problems!!! Hollywood Palms Inn Motel is a rip-off!!! The hotel manager tricks you into giving him a $20 deposit and hopes that you forget to get it back upon check-off, because it is an odd procedure for hotels to do that, so people aren't accustomed to doing it. I suspect that he uses the money for drugs, because at night he seems very shady. I called and spoke to a younger gentleman before returning to get my deposit (1.5 hours out of the way!) and I was told the manager was in a meeting (at 10:30PM!!!!)?? I kept calling back and was told the manager returned, went to the bathroom, and then left again, all while I was on the phone with the younger gentleman, asking to speak with the manager! That is the poorest customer service I've ever received! Totally disrespectful. They are careless people and the only reason why anyone stays there is because of the location.
