Provided by CitysearchTamara ZumMallen is an amazing acupuncturist. This was my first experience with acupuncture and I will be going back. She treated me for neck pain and intestinal distress. I saw tremendous improvement after just one treatment. Tamara's style is very comforting; she put me at ease right away. She asked a lot of questions and was very good at explaining the treatment. I definitely recommend Tamara if you have been wanting to try acupuncture but don't know where to start.

Provided by CitysearchI've been getting massages at Healing Hands for almost three years now, and I can't recommend it enough! I've bought myself, friends, and out-of-town guests DOZENS of massages here and we all agree, this is a great place to experience both bodywork and relaxation! Whether you consider your massages a luxury or a survival necessity, don't be fooled by the ""no-frills"" reputation - they take great care to make a relaxing and tranquil environment. You get cooling cucumber-lemon water before and after, and even the bathroom is candelit and cozy. There is sometimes some street noise or the noise of the waiting area and the old building creaking, but with a great therapist at work on you, you won't notice these things!
Favorite therapists: Adam (fabulous pressure and technique, charming to spend time with), Chad (very ""holistic"" healer who also uses Reiki - amazing energy from him, though he may be hard to book!), Niki, and Erica M., my current ""regular;"" she is just incredible - intuitive and a true touch therapist. My friend who is a dancer and requires a more aggressive, sports-type massage than I do also highly recommends Aaron - he couldn't say enough great things about his session with him!
I also love their gift certificates, and the opportunity to share this place with friends. It's a gift that really gives back - the friends I have referred here always return the favor by sending me back every birthday and Christmas! A great tradition to start with your friends. Enjoy!

Provided by CitysearchI wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The people were nice, but I didn't receive the ""typical"" massage that I expected to get. The lady who worked on me (Dodi), touched a pressure point behind my ear. I told her it hurt, but she didn't stop. She also unexpectedly pulled on my ears which also obvioulsy didn't feel good at all. I left feeling lightheaded and still feel that way after two months. Overall, I had a really bad experience.

Provided by CitysearchWhen I walk in to Healing Hands I immediately feel relaxed. It is very clean and decorated nicely. I've tried other ""budget"" or ""no frills"" massages spa's and there is usually no aesthetic or the place is just a mess. I walk into Healing Hands and I feel right at home. Every therapists I've tried is very good but different, so ask the receptionist who they recommend based on what you need. It's also very rare to be able to park right in front. Parking can be very stressful in LA and that defeats the purpose of getting a massage. Really nice place!

Provided by CitysearchI am a massage therapist and therefore quite choosy when it's my turn to receive. I have yet to be disappointed at HH. I've had at least 7 or 8 different therapists (sometimes I request, sometimes I take the luck of the draw), and each one has impressed me in their own way. What they've had in common is a superior knowledge of the human anatomy and a natural gift for healing through bodywork. The front desk has always been very helpful and friendly. I send all my friends and even some of my own clients when I'm out of town! That's how highly I regard the therapists at Healing Hands. And FYI - they have an awesome chiropractor and acupuncturist too.

Provided by CitysearchI scheduled a massage with a male therapist who had received glowing remarks on this site and was utterly disappointed by the experience. His energy was negative and it really affected the quality of the massage. I thought I'd treat myself to a well needed massage and scheduled a 90 minute session, suffice it to say that it was the only time I had a massage where I couldn't wait for the massage to end. I should have ended it soon after it began, but I was looking to spare the therapist embarrassment.
Also, I was very disappointed by the facility. The massage rooms are located immediately off the reception area so there is too much noise.
I will never return to Healing Hands for tissue work.

Provided by CitysearchAfter reading all of the positive reviews and seeing a Lindsay Lohan's Paparrazi picture there, I thought I would try it. I have to agree -- they're really amazing massages. This is a very casual place, not a Spa, so you get what you pay for but well worth it. The facilities are clean calm and cozy with candles in the rooms. Saria was the first and ONLY therapist I use and she's always gives these deep tissues messages that relax every muscle in your body. I couldn't be happier. The staff are really nice and profession and make you feel very comfortable. The real perk is that they actually give you a FULL HOUr as oppose to the spa's where they cut the visit by 15 minutes.

Provided by CitysearchI stopped by yesterday after reading other reviews on Citysearch, they were right. My massage was excellent, probably one of the best I've ever had. I would definitly recommend Healing Hands to anyone!

Provided by CitysearchI've been to healing hands several times, and gotten massages from different therapists - and each time has been great! The massages are better than the $100+ ones I've gotten at the full service spas.

Provided by CitysearchI saw Adam and it was the best massage that I've ever had! The attentiveness to my problem areas was amazing and can only be described as a ""healers intuition"". And you can't beat the low $55 price for an entire hour.

Provided by CitysearchI have been to many massage boutiques in LA and this place is the best. All of the massage therapists are highly skilled and have great demeanors! Sandy is very friendly and does a great job!

Provided by CitysearchJust went there for my second time....this time I had Leah last time Ariel....both had very different styles but each one had elements in their massage that the other didnt that I liked. If you want the fru fru spa experience this is not the palce to go. But for a basic massage you can not go wrong here. The price is right ($49). I actually bought a series of 5 and you get a bit of a break on the the per cost. And you actually get a FULL 60 minutes - I have never got that anywhere.....

Provided by CitysearchI called and booked an appointment with Ward, on a whim, because I had a kink in my neck... NO MORE KINK!! Ward focused his time and energy (and wonderful strength) on the exact areas I need it. I can't begin to tell you the wonders he worked on my shoulders and neck!
Strong hands. Laid back atmosphere without the froo-frooness of a ""spa"". This is the only place I will go for a massage from now on.
They give you water, both before and after... but evey dime (only $49 for an hour!) goes towards your massage. (I mean, I go for the rub down, not the frills.)
AMAZING PRICE, AMAZING STRENGTH, AMAZING PLACE, AMAZING FOLKS!!!
I HIGHLY recommend Healing Hands.

Provided by CitysearchThis place is amazing. It is completey stress-free from the ample parking to the warm and friendly staff memebers. Evening appointments are available for 9-5ers. My masseuse listens to what areas I want him to focus on and applies this to the massage. The quality of massage is the best I have experienced in LA, and with the price of $49 per hour, the value is great too. If you want an amazing massage at a low price - go here!
