Provided by CitysearchYet another place with overpriced, average quality food. Portions are big, but it doesn't make up for the average quality and price. Simply a place to be seen.

Provided by CitysearchIve heard about the place a long time, but always had a line. I wont wait in a line to eat, and they dont take reservations. Finally went on a tues at 11 and no line. I guess the draw is pancakes, which i'm not too wild about, and huge portions. Looking around, nothing looked like good cooking, just big. I decided to try a sandwich. I wondered how you could put grilled spinach on a sandwich and not have a soggy mess. Evidently you can't. Huge side of great fries though. Menu seems to be geared towards breakfast, but nothing looked inspiring. I tried 3 different chilis. all were bland, and one dimentional. One was just plain awful. Hip, hollywood type, or trying, crowd, lots of condiments on the table. Totally hot and friendly waiters. too crowded.

Provided by CitysearchYes, the service at The Griddle can be a little slow at times. But it is only because they are always jam-packed with people! This is my favorite place to grab breakfast! I love the 'Tis the season pancakes that have pumpkin pie mix in them! The Saturday morning fever pancakes with kahlua and bailey's are great too. The Griddle is definately worth trying, especially for pancake lovers. I've seen a few celebs in my visits too, which is always fun. Great place to eat!

Provided by CitysearchThe much hyped Griddle Cafe is a place to be seen. Get there early or expect to wait. The food was good and the waiters were cute. Next to the Directors Guild so expect to see a lot of people with scripts out hoping to be seen.
Fun place

Provided by CitysearchI have just recently visited LA and my favorite part about it was teh GRIDDLE VAFE, the place had everything the serivice was good the food was so rich in flavor and if you are worried about value no need to you get more for you money . The pancakes are as big as a pizza and you get three to a serving i rate this place a 10.. it should come to long island..

Provided by CitysearchNobody serves a better breakfast. Nobody. Frequent alot of breakfast joints. This one tops them all, in all food categories: omelettes, scrambles, pancakes(whoa!!), coffee; you name it they offer it and serve it fresh. Food is clean, tasty, and the portions are HUGE! Worth the dough. Only issue... CROWDED. And a scene. A scene. If you like watchin the young in hollywood, or don't, but want really good food and can endure them... go!!!!!

Provided by CitysearchHeard great things about this place so my wife and I finally went there for breakfast this morning. We got there at about 8:30 AM on a Sunday and we were seated right away, no problem, even though it was pretty full already. And it was a nice, lively atmosphere. However, I would give the food and service mixed results. The hoagie omelette I got was OK, nothing special. However, my wife's bacon was cold, her toast was white instead of wheat as she asked for and they forgot her home fries. Then, after paying with a credit card, they couldn't give me my own copy of the receipt. Might give them one more chance again in the future but definitely a disappointing first visit.

Provided by CitysearchI think the host is a New York import, he keeps everyone in line and gets you to a table where you can enjoy a french press of coffee and do yourself a favor try the Papas Benidict. The bluderry pancakes are amazing but HUGE Loud 60-70's rock in the background, mostly college crowd.

Provided by CitysearchI've been eating breakfast around the country for over 10 years - The Griddle has no equal. Thick cut bacon, fluffy eggs, apple-smoked sausage - it's all good, baby! You won't find a better breakfast location and LA seems to know it - get there early if you want a seat. Waiters could use a little work - they're a bit aloof.

Provided by CitysearchThe french press coffee was a surefire way to impress the first time there, and the food also impressed. A very tasty breakfast and lunch joint. The wait starts building after 9.30 on the weekends, so go early. The only complaint is it's pretty noisy inside so it may not be the best for the severely hung-over.

Provided by CitysearchIf you love inferior, mediocre food that's been another subject of press-hype and spin-then this place is for you! I will say that the interior is fun and cool, so it's worth the time to get a cup o' joe and check out the place.

Provided by CitysearchIt is the best breakfast ever. Worlds greatest chili omlette.

Provided by CitysearchIt's almost too much food, go and split your order with many friends. Lots of options for what to put in your pancake or waffle. A bit of a scene but fun to people watch

Provided by CitysearchAlthough this is a popular place, I've never had to wait too long. The meals are large and varied, although the pancakes are the big draw here. Also, the coffee is great and served in an individual French press. This is a nice bonus if you're having a leisurely weekend breakfast.

Provided by CitysearchThere is no reason why someone shouldn't go to the Griddle Cafe. If you enjoy pancakes or french toast this place is the #1 place to go. There is a wide, creative and flavorful variety of pancakes which you can't just find anywhere. Although the atmosphere is nothing special, the Bailey's/Kahlua pancakes make up for it. You can even catch a celebrity sighting too!

Provided by CitysearchThe most original, and yummy pancake creations of any breaky restaurant ive been too. The Saturday Morning Fever pancake (pancake batter swirled with baileys and kahulua!) is my favorite!

Provided by CitysearchI simply can't believe and understand why anyone think this is the best breakfast place in Hollywood, West Hollywood. The food is appalling and comes out cold, the service is disastrous. It's my worst breakfast experience I've ever had. They don't even have a very imaginative menu. So, what's the fuss about?
