The worst place to go for anything!!!! They kicked my new boyfriend and I out for being gay cause some Muslim family hated our relationship... We did nothing but laugh and have fun with the server... They complained about gays and being against us:: then we were kicked out by a bar tender who laughed as we said this isn't right seeing anyone kicked out for sex, religion, or race... Our country is going under....

Best food in town
Food is amazing. Every time I come here, I feel like I never want to leave. Very chic atmosphere with a relaxing mood.
The service is great and the staff really does a terrific job at taking care of you.
The appetizers are delicious.
Theres plenty of places to park: theres a parking lot across the street and a parkin garage up the street within walking distance.
Most of the time I find myself looking at my watch waiting for the food to come, but here I was so entertained with the fun atmosphere that I was pleasantly surprised when my food arrived

A friend & I went last night - 5:30 on a Friday and the place was empty, maybe a few people at the bar. Two girls came in just ahead of us and took the 2-person table in the bar area, which is the only area where you can have happy hour prices. We were told that in order to enjoy the happy hour menu, which we have done for years, we would have to sit at the bar because the 4-seating tables in this empty restaurant were reserved for any larger group which might come in at that early hour. Otherwise, we could sit in the empty restaurant and order full meals, no discounts. But we have always sat at the 4-seat tables with no 4-person minimum if they were available, first come first serve and in an empty restaurant at an early hour, there was nobody to serve.. So, we went up the street to Bad Sushi where happy hour is at any table in the restaurant and the food was much, much better, the prices were nicer and the people were charming. We saw that en was still empty when we walked by at the end of our Bad Sushi meal. Goodbye hostess with an attitude! Sorry En, but your hostess shouldn't turn away business. You've lost a long-time customer.

We have been going to En Sushi for years and now we can no longer go there. We have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant. We came in at around 9pm on a Tuesday because a friend was in town and we happened to sit at a table in the bar area and the bartender is the one that helped us since we sat in the bar area. This guy was so rude and condescending. He even told us he hated sushi. And he works at a sushi restaurant?! The guy even got into it with my husband because I said something to him. One of the waiters was so apologetic to us for the horrible service but the manager didn't even say anything. I think they're afraid of the guy. Like one of the other reviewers, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO EN SUSHI OR RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS. I was so humiliated by the way the waiter treated me. My friend was so shocked with his behavior and couldn’t believe he had treated us as rudely as he did.

This is the somewhere I would take someone who said they didn't like or even hated sushi to convert them into a life-time lover of raw fish. It's actually that amazing. Friendly bartenders, nice atmosphere, but, most of all, INCREDIBLE FOOD. They offer a variety of rolls ranging from basic sashimi to more decadent cooked rolls, but, you really can't go wrong. And if you just can't behind fish, they have amazing dinners that include more basic, less intimidating items like Chicken Teriyaki and steak. Make sure you try the fried ice cream for dessert. Absolutlely the best!

En Sushi is a great lunch spot!! They offer different lunch specials (Bento Boxes, Noodle combos, Sushi combos) at very resonable prices. Most of the lunch specials come with a salad and miso soup.
If I remember correctly, they don't charge for hot green tea. Another plus. =)
I've never been to En Sushi for dinner but have heard that it can get pricey.

I had dinner at En last night and again it was amazing! I have been going to En for years and it is consistently good. Their traditional suhsi & sashimi is fresh. They have simple rolls as well as wild rolls with different fish and sauces. My favorites are the albacore tataki sashimi, salmon sashimi, hurricane roll and the diablo roll. They have a number of different sakes to choose from, I love the Oka. It is a great ambiance, very LA. I would recommend this for friends or a date.

We went here on a Thursday night so the place was not crowded at all. We did make reservation just in case though. I ordered the Omakase and it was not expensive at all at $45. The fish was fantastic and very fresh. Everything was mouthwatering. This is a great sushi place. The only bad part was that our waiter ignore us for a good 20 minutes. He did not bring us one of our food and again ignore us when we were ready to ask for the check. Next time I may just sit at the bar.

I went to En Sushi with my family for dinner and was disappointed with the food. I ordered the Teriyaki Beef dinner and my family orders 2 other different kinds of set dinner. The dinner sets were not good and the portion was small. The only thing that was good we ordered was the spicy tuna roll. I went home feeling unsatisfied and hungry because the food was not good. However, this place has a cool looking bar and nice decor, I guess it is a place to go if you want to impress your date and pay for so so food. There are many Japanese restaurant in West L.A./Santa Monica for more reasonable prices and better food. I'd rather eat at smaller authentic restaurants that have good food.

Great place for a date but have the bar serve you. Also a great place for Happy Hour. The Bar and Sushi was awesome, can't speak for the restaurants service. The words ""Excuse me"" have no effect, so I recommend ""Hey come here."" Refill on your water, good luck. Expect things like ""Oh you want extra what, of that's going to cost extra."" Prices are not too bad, sushi and drinks (cocktail, premium) for two will run you around $90. Management at the restaurant is much like the servers, so don't bother complaining. Valet's $3.50 or save the money and park across the street at the supermarket.

This restaurant serves fairly good sushi. The sushi isn't modestly priced but it also isn't ridiculously expensive. The decor provides a romantic setting for people on dates. It can get packed sometimes so I'd recommend making reservations.

En Sushi is definitely one of those trendy LA sushi places where the prices are steeper than the local sushi restaurant because of the atomsphere. That said, the sushi is actually good. I had some hamachi sashimi ($6) and a spicy hamachi roll ($6) which I liked (but nothing like Hokusai!) The crunchy spicy tuna roll ($10) is really good as well. Cocktails were good but not very strong ($10-15). My friend ordered the sea bass but they didn't have it so she had black cod ($18) and she really liked it. The service was good and the food was pretty good as well, so I would come back.

Good Sushi. I like this place. I enjoyed their Uni (Sea urchin), Ama Ebi (raw shrimp), Torro (fatty tuna), giant clams...etc. Everything I tasted has been good. The decor is really trendy and neat. Lunch time is also a treat here because their lunch menu is very fulfilling and delicious. Overall price is not too bad. If you enjoy high quality sushi and an great atmosphere, I think the price is suitable.

I have nothing else more to say than the stupid waitress that took my order.
I asked for halibut and she come back 20 minutes later ""we don't have halibut anymore"", but i overheard the sushi chef saying ""that's the last order"" meaning, MY ORDER. she said they were out of the halibut so i ended up ordering something else.
then after i get that new order, she comes back saying ""i'm sorry we actually have halibut""
i know i sound mean and there are miscommunications and people do make mistakes.. BUT it's the WAY SHE SAID IT. it was the TONE i didn't appreciate it. she should've admitted that it was her misunderstanding. errr!!
oh, but the food is good.
My friend and I went to En fairly early on a week night. We ordered and waited, and waited, and waited. After 45 minutes we asked about our food and was told it was almost done (mind you, this was all sushi - nothing cooked). Flash forward: after 1 1/2 hours and three talks with the manager we still never saw our food. Meanwhile, tables around us had come, ate, got their checks and left. The final time we asked the manager, did he apologize? Say he'd make sure one of the sushi chefs took care of it right now? Offer us some miso soup to tie us over? No, he shrugged and walked off. Perhaps it was good that the food never came because there seemed to be a lot of people complaining. The only conversation we were privy to was the table next to us where they had brought our neighbor the wrong salad. She had taken a bite before she realized it and the manager told her that by law, because she had taken a bite, they couldn't replace it with the correct salad. Are you kidding me??? They finally brought her the right one - but it was a fight. It may have just been a bad night for En but A.) they could have handled the situation in about 100 ways better than they did and B.) with so many great restaurants in LA, why take a chance? The silver lining of the night was that we walked across the street to Nook which was fabulous: great food, great service, and a calming ambience that was much needed after the cluster**** we experienced at En.
I went to EN Sushi with my friends last weekend. Even if they were busy, our server was very nice and gave us a great service!! Food was also AWSOME!! We ordered lots of sushi and some rolls. Sushi were very fresh and rolls were also very tasty!! Good food and good people and good atmosphere. I love this place and I recommend to everybody!!

En Sushi is the kind of place where people who THINK they like sushi go.This is NOT a sushi restaurant. It's simply a place for posers who like to PRETEND to be sushi eaters. If you want to order rolls with cute names, stuffed with American fillers, than this is the place for you. If you want true sushi, then go elsewhere.
The service here is always terrible, as if they couldn't be bothered to actually wait on customers. I went to a birthday party in the ""private room"". Before we ordered, we clarified with the waitress that she would do seperate checks, as we had a large party. She said she would, but sure enough, hours later we were handed one massive check, with the tip already added in. I had to go downstairs, find our waitress and demand she either split the check up, or remove her tip, as we would not be leaving a gratuity at all. After two or three trips downstairs, and waiting over forty minutes, she finally agreed to do it. It ended the entire party on a really negative note, and everyone was annoyed.
In short, if you like FAKE SUSHI served by RUDE PEOPLE then go to En Sushi.

Best sushi in the area...and coming from living in Japan for 10+ years, I know what I am talking about!
The service was great, and the food was excellent. Fresh fish, and the various appetizer choices were very tasty. I especially recommend the seafood dynamite and the albacore salad. Can't wait to return to try the other menu choices...their sake selection is extensive too, which definitely adds to the whole meal experience.
