I have been a fan since 1997. On every visit the food has been very good. I always take someone new there and they become a fan. Haven't met anyone yet to stay something bad. Can't recommend anything because I love mostly everything.
This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in L.A. It's the definition of balanced. It's a classy place without being intimidating. The clientele is mixed and makes the place welcoming - plenty of Mexicans/Latinos eat there, which tends to be people's marker for authenticity, yet you'll also find everyone from decked out hipsters to casually-dressed out-of-towner families.
Indoors or outdoors is a comfortable atmosphere.
The prices are very reasonable. The portions are generous. And the food is delicious. I know people who swear by their chimichangas. Others love their burritos. My girlfriend raves about their chile colorado. I tend to try something new every time, and I've yet to be disappointed.
Top it off with a nice Patron margarita or two and Don Antonio's provides a fantastic experience for lunch or dinner.
I am a big fan of mexican food and this was nothing to write home about. We went with a large group and sat in the back patio - very cute, nice ambiance, althought they let people smoke out there. Be prepared to show 4 forms of ID if you plan to drink. We had to present it at the bar and then again at the table, and then AGAIN when the baretender came outside to make sure there was no sharing of drinks. To top the evening off, a NAIL WAS FOUND IN THE FOOD (not a fingernail, a METAL NAIL). We called the manager over and he was not apologetic at all and did not offer to do anything about it. In fact, he was accusatory towards us and insisted that the NAIL did not come from the restaurant. Horrible horrible service, I will not go there again and will not recommend this restaurant to others.

Don Antonio's is a perfect place to while away a sunny afternoon over some of the best margaritas in LA. Avoid the Wednesday $1 taco night if you can - even that price isn't worth the crowds. The food is tasty - I'm a particular fan of their shrimp fajitas and fish tacos. While nothing beats the patio, the cozy cave interior is intimate and even a little romantic.

I'm a regular at DA's. It's my favorite Mexican food in LA. The ambiance is great inside or on the patio. The service is excellent - the waiters are all business, yet friendly. The margaritas are some of my favorite. And, of course, the food is outstanding. I go for the carne asada (burrito or plate,) but I like everything else I've tried there too. And don't forget to order the albondiga soup. Even the chips and salsa are great (and that's important!)
You might wait 20-30 minutes if you go during normal busy hours but it's worth it. Admittedly, Wednesdays are way too crowded so stay away unless you want $1 tacos. But if you're looking for great authentic mexican food, this is the place.

WALK RIGHT IN AND GRAB MY REGULAR TABLE AND WAITER KNOWS IMMEDIATELY TO BRING US EACH A MARGARITA. CHIPS AND SALSA ARE ON YOUR TABLE IMMEDIATELY AND THE FOOD IS SERVED TIMELY. SERVE IS OUTSTANDING. THIS PLACE IS THE GREATEST. I WILL GO HERE ONCE A WEEK FOREVER.
One of the Many mexican restraunts on the westside of LA.
Discovered it several years ago. I don't know what changed but the overal quality of the food has gone downhill. I continue to frequant this establishment because of the drinks, but I now view the food as secondary.
I f you are looking for the best I recomend that you continue your search
We used to go here a lot but lately it seems that the food has changed the last few times we've been there. The food isn't bad though but we really like going there for the sangrias.

I have been going to D.A.'s for a long time, and being an extremly choosy person, have found time and time again that the service and food there are great. While the food is not as good as some little abuela's, who is holed up in her kitchen making tamales and Carne Asada by hand the way her abuela used to make it, it still passes the test. Also the waiters remember you by name, and can actually walk up and ask if you would like your regular. That doesn't happen in this town.
the only time your not going to be seated pormpltly is on wednesday nights. 99¢ Taco night. It's always mobbed. And for good reason.

Their margaritas *can* be beat. The food was very good, but the service was lacking. The atmosphere was warm and traditional; very appealing. All in all, the experience was ""average."" I'm still on the hunt for ""the best Mexican restaurant on the Westside.""

Good, consistent food and great ""mexican restaurant"" atmosphere. Nice and dark, you can drive home after the margaritas and a patio! No, the service isn't perfection, but who cares...its not rude and you get what you order in a prompt fashion. Only advice...avoid the seafood...its been frozen a bit too long.

How wonderful the service is, the great prices, wonderful setting, good service but the best thing is the wonderful food. Try the chile rellanos or the beans. Try it all. It is the best Mexican restaurant around and I've tried them all. Everyone I take there goes back. Thumbs up!

I LOVE this place. I get the tamale/enchilada combination everytime I go for dinner, but their burritos and carne asada dishes are awesome too. Never had a bad meal. The waitstaff is very polite, and their margaritas rock! Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in LA, and I've tried lots. There's nothing aesthetically amazing about this place, but it's darling in it's own way - almost like a Spanish grotto... you have to see it for yourself.

Never have I had such amazing Mexican food as I do at Don Antonio's at least once a week. Don Antonio's offers great homestyle Mexican cooking at an affordable price. The margaritas are great, the staff is wonderful and the food is to die for. If you're looking for great Mexican food at an affordable price don't look any further, Don Antonio's is the best!
