The Utah State University Research Foundation, established in 1967, is a nonprofit corporation owned by Utah State University. It provides management services and support for applied research, discovery of new ideas and the advancement of innovative technologies. Located in North Logan, Utah, it is governed by an independent, volunteer board of trustees. It performs sponsored research for industries, private organizations and government agencies. The foundation undertakes various research projects, such as space engineering, biotechnology and water research. It develops sensor and satellite systems; performs space, air, and ground-based experiments; develops sensor hardware and associated software; and performs concept validation studies and demonstrations. It operates a space dynamic laboratory, which is affiliated with the university and is spread over an area of approximately 170,000 square feet. It employs more than 100 students.
