My first experience boarding and I'm highly disappointed. First off let me say my dog came home safe, so they have that going for them.
Second, I asked the kennel to give my dog his bed and his toys, they choose not to give the bed because it creates messes if chewed, which is fine BUT the office lady told me when I picked him up he had absolutely no interest in his toys which isn't possible, my dog loves his tennis ball with a passion and even if for some miracle reason he wasn't interested, if they actually gave it to him it would of been dirty the tennis balls and other toys I provided were brand new when I bought them and they were brand new given back not a spec of dirt. Hard to believe.
Third, I payed for board and train, requested three training sessions and received two, which really doesn't bother me because she was busy I understand but I was told I would receive a call from the trainer about what she worked on him with. Now it's three weeks later with no phone call or a follow up call.
I requested a bath to be given for my dog they left the collar on him when they bathed him and unfortunately he was allergic to whatever they used (not the kennels fault) but because they left his collar on him he had sores all around his neck, and when I rinsed the collar it starting bubbling like soap, and smelt like soap. So they didn't even rinse him well enough which also irritated his skin, gave him folliculitis and had to have him taken to the vet.
I was so excited to leave him in what I thought was good hands but apparently I was wrong and I'm highly disappointed and just happy he is home safe.
Im giving two stars 1 because he's alive and 2 because the one on one training I received was amazing, but boarding or "board and train" I would never recommend.

I have a rescue and was worried about how she would take to being put in the kennel for a week. The staff at Sunset were so caring and careful. Cannot say enough about their professionalism.

My dogs are very spoiled at home, so I am very particular about their care when I am away. I wasvery impressed with Sunset Kennels. They are very professional and caring, I will not leave my dogs anywhere else!
