The sign says Old Trail Tavern but the locals know we're "Ada's." In 1957, Mac and Ada Snyder purchased property along the Susquehanna River and opened an establishment called "Brass Rail Bar." After Mac's passing in 1971, Ada changed the name to "Ada's Country Bar." Despite being legally blind, Ada continued to run the bar for over 50 years, enjoying the conversation of locals and travelers alike. Ada was truly a one-of-a-kind, larger-than-life woman who, despite owning a bar, did not drink alcohol and did not permit cursing. To this day, those who had the honor of meeting her still tell tales of a kind and wise woman who was one of the best spoons players around. In 2007 Ada passed away at the age of 96 and willed her property to Sherri and David Price. The Prices completed a full renovation of the building, adding on an addition which nearly doubled the size of the bar and gave it the new name of "Old Trail Tavern." Today, we honor our establishment's rich history by featuring a scratch kitchen and hand-crafted cocktails. We hope you enjoy your time with us and come back real soon!
