Service technician Parker called ahead and arrived on time. He was very polite and went to work on checking out furnace. Made adjustments, cleaned and tested...answered my questions. Excellent service.

Unfortunately they are not good with telling time and have not always shown up looking or acting professional. However the system they put in does work well.

Merely disappointed. Appt was set up on Thursday, 5/17 for appt @ 1-1:30 on Friday 5/18 and was a "No Show!" It is now 2:53 pm! I did not receive a courtesy call that the vendor would be late or that he needed to reschedule, which would have been perfectly acceptable! There was absolutely no regard for my time, as I sat here for two hours! Well...Angies List was wrong! I would have felt happier to give you a great review!

Needed gas lines taken apart and capped. Called Charles Heating and Plumbing and made an Appt.. Serviceman Don came out and met him in my driveway. Showed him what needed to be done, disconnecting gas burning stove and pipes in basement. I could tell Don knew exactly what to do, after getting tools from his Van. From the time he started, he had the Main shut down, disconnecting the stove upstairs and pipes in the basement and capped off, Turning the Main back on and taking extra time to check for leaks and then resetting and relighting the hot water heater in a 1/2 hour time. A Great job done by Don. Will always call Charles HVAC for any of my future problems in my house!

Thieves and liars!!! Do not trust this company. The previous owner of our house had Charles Heating come in the day that we closed on the house to repair the tankless hot water heater. When we moved in, the system did not work. We called Charles and they gave us the run-around. They said that the issue we had was not the same issue that they came to fix, which was a lie. On the invoice it said that the unit was taken apart and the burners were cleaned. After the 5th or 6th call to Charles they said that all they did was flush vinegar through the system and that they don`t normally work on tankless hot water systems but they were doing the previous owner a favor since he was in a bind.

We had a reputable company come in, and I sat there with this guy the whole time to watch and learn. I was informed that there were no isolation valves on the unit, so there is no way to flush the system, so that was another lie. When the unit was taken apart by the reputable technician, none of the dust had been disturbed in the unit, so Charles saying that it was taken apart to clean the burners was also a lie. After 3 wks, countless lies, excuses, and run-around we were finally able to get a refund from charles for the work that the previous owner had paid to have done which charles heating and cooling neglected to do.

REPAIR QUOTE INCOMPLETE AND WAY TOO HIGH.

I called Charles Heating and Air and for a $89.95 service charge and they arrived within the hour.

I watched as the technician checked the furnace. By wiggling the wires on the Intermediate pilot control module, the relays clicked on and the furnace started.

The quote was $595.00 to replace the module plus another $300.00 to clean and tune the furnace.

The quote was just one of a several groups on his estimate form. The $595.00 group did not mention "intermediate pilot control modules". I had thought for my $89.95, if the furnace could not be fixed then the estimate would include the parts needed to fixed the problem and the labor needed to replace those parts.

I turned to the internet and found a replacement intermediate pilot control module had a list price of $259.00.

I bought a new replacement module on Amazon.com for $105.00 and with overnight shipping and tax about $135.00. It took me about 15 minutes to install it. There were two screws and 7 wires to plug in. With the tax on the $595.00, I fixed the furnace myself for about $500.00 less than their "estimate".

I would not have begrudged Charles, the $259.00 list price for the part and another $90.00 for the 15 minutes to install it. I just think their $595.00 quote to be at least $245.00 too high. Remember the $595.00 did not include any cleaning or tuning of the furnace, that was to be an extra $300.00.

Charles Heating and Air was available when I needed them. They would have eventually fixed the furnace or sold me another. If they had given me a true parts and labor estimate, they would have been acceptable. But an repair quote of $245. above full price retail ( $500. above DIY) causes me to rate them as poor.

Called the company for a heating problem. Was told someone would be at our home between 930am-130pm. When no one showed, called and was told "someone" cancelled our appointment. When asked who cancelled, we were told "we don't have that information". We called this company once before and the same thing happened. TWO TIMES NO SHOW. NEVER AGAIN. Terrible company with awful service, or should I say NO SERVICE. Company slogan is "On Time or you don't pay a dime" Waste of your time.

They installed promptly and the job was done right. There was a small glitch and they came back and fixed it with apologies. Can't ask for more than that!!
