Nature in the City

You can cycle here, you can walk here, you can drive here, but you must come. In the winter you can find many species of birds including bald eagles in the park. And the Nature Center, housed in a log cabin just behind the Aspen Grove shopping center, is full of information and activities to interest the whole family. Winter and summer there is plenty to see.

The Nature Center faces the Mary Carter Greenway, which is an intergrated leg of the bike trail system the surrounds Denver. You can ride from here to downtown Denver, around Chatfield Park, the Highline Canal, and out to Bear Creek Lake Park.

The fishing is good, both along the South Platte river and the several lakes in the Park.
