The Littleton Police Department provides law enforcement services to the community of Littleton, Colo. The department is a division of the government of the city of Littleton. The police department is made up of several divisions, including the patrol division, the detective division and support services. The patrol division receives and responds to all initial calls for police service, enforces traffic laws and preserves order within the community. The detective division investigates major crimes, is responsible for evidence and property and conducts background investigations of all employees and those applying for liquor licenses. The support services division provides crime prevention programs, maintenance of records and Animal Control.
