This is just another example of some of the businesses that are falling apart in Lititz. We've eaten at The Pantry before and weren't impressed with the food, but the atmosphere was quaint, had a homey feel, and the waitress at that time was nice enough, although the place was a little dirty. Going back today really took us by surprise. This restaurant has really gone downhill: the walls and windows are splattered with past meals, dead flies and gnats litter the windowsills, the carpet is terribly stained, the silverware dirty, and when we asked our waitress to wipe off our sticky table, she got offended and was "cold" to us for the rest of our stay. Twice I had to physically get up and go to find somebody-----once for salad dressing and again for a To Go box. Our salads were old looking, many of the lettuce pieces were wilted and some were turning black on the edges, you could tell that the lettuce had been in the refrigerator for some time. Our plastic water glasses were sticky to the touch and mine had a strange odor in it. When we went to pay at the register and presented our coupon, the waitress gave us a big sigh of annoyance that we had a coupon and actually rolled her eyes at us! This place would benefit with a good top to bottom cleaning and proper training for the serving staff. If the dining area is that dirty, I would hate to see the kitchen. It's such a shame that it has been let go because it has the potential to be a neat little "mom and pop" place. We will not return and will encorage our friends to not waste their money there.
