The guys at this store are amazing! The guy that owns it may seem a lil dry but is probably one of the most knowledgeable people i've encountered. If you know as much as these guys do it does seem to come across as cocky but you've got to be if your that confident in your knowledge. They don't mind talking to you about your questions as long as they aren't just slammed with customers. People need to realize that when you stay as busy as these guys are in order to keep all the customers happy they have to be in a sense what may seem short at times. After all it is a business and you've got to try and get to every customer at the point of sale to be successful. The age of the business speaks scores about the quality of their store! These guys have earned a customer for life! Don't expect to call and have a lengthy conversation due to them trying to take care of the customers in store. Just go by and they will take care of you.

Stopped by today to purchase a SR9E and all Freddie had was a SR9 and pressured me to buy it, and acted like I was stupid because I didn't agree with him as if I had done no research beforehand. He even chased me out into the parking lot to try to tell me more features I already was aware the SR9E didn't have. Very high pressure sales tactics, with many other more friendly and cheaper places like DGS Sporting Goods I don't know why you would ever choose to go to the gun store.

I bought an AR-15 for my wife, VIA. C.T.D. The gun arrived in good time. We went there before the gun arrived to give Freddie a heads up and all we got was an attitude. We told him where the gun was coming from and got ( sorry to hear that, you know we sell guns here too ) Well he was very blunt about anything else and just walked away, leaving us at the counter. When the gun arrived, another guy waited on us and he was very nice to us. Freddie just stared at us the whole time. I have other friends that has other dealings there with the same results, they want deal with him anymore and nether will we. He also charged 10.00 more dollars for the paper work than anyone else in town.

I recently visited The Gun Store to address an issue with my Savage Axis 270. I purchased the rifle last year but never fired it. I decided this year I would use the 270 instead of my Marlin 3030. In an attempt to zero in the scope I found that the scope was too far forward for my comfort. Once again I never fired a shot. I elected to go to The Gun Store the following day. I was eventually greeted by Freddie, one of the individuals behind the counter. Upon placing the rifle to his shoulder he had the same issue. The scope was too far forward to get full eye relief without moving your head forward. He then proceeded to change the base mount and the rings to correct the the issue. Nothing he had would resolve the problem. I ask for his opinion. He suggest I replace the scope with his $299 and/or replace the rifle with his $350 choice. As you can expect, "well that is not going to happen today". Put everythng back together as it was and I will pay you for your time". Then it happened, "people by these cheap rifles and scopes and expect me to correct the problems". After leaving my sun glasses on the counter I reentered to store only to hear Freddie telling the next customer about my cheap purchase. I was furious but kept my cool, collected my glasses and left the store NEVER to return. In the first place, Savage makes the rifle Freddie was trying to sell me and my scope is a major brand priced at $80. My outfit is not cheap by any standards. This store and FREDDIE have a LOT to learn about customer service and satisfaction. THE GUN STORE HAS SEEN THE LAST OF ME. By the way, my problem was resolved by Guns And Such on #8 in Lexington.
