8/4/2018 (The Decision-Making Process) - I thought I would capture my experience of purchasing a new HVAC system for my home, which was a first for a primary home.
TN Bowes was my last of maybe 6 contractors to provide me an estimate, and maybe three too many. At this point my family had been without first and second floor air for two weeks going on three, but it was durable due to rain which kept temperatures relatively cool considering Jul-Aug weather. Now at this phase of the process I was leaning towards TN Bowes and another local contractor due to their premier brands which were Carrier, American Standard, Bryant and Trane. But at the end of the day what came to understand in all my readings was that it was more about the installation than the brand, all things being equal. While it was a somewhat difficult choice, TN Bowes won out with three essential factors – discount paying with cash, card or check; a military discount; but most importantly, a 5-year labor and 10-year parts warranty.
The Sales Representative also conducted a load assessment, which was great, because I had very little confidence that Quality Built Homes got it right when they built my home. So far, so good, just waiting for contract and installation to begin.
I will provide continued updates through installation. Let's see if they can maintain this 5 -star rating.
