A courier between you n DMV FOR JUST UNDER $100!!! These ladies are great ONLY if you don't have anything that requires them to think! Dont expect them to have your back or try to save you money that you dont actually owe & if you prefer paying the $79 fee to waiting in dmv lines! keep in mind you may end up paying far more than you need to and i am not referring to the fee they charge! i used them for years and only as a matter of convienience without issue, and if you consider the usual customers are just paying for them to stand in line for you! recently i bought a used car with out of state plates! oregon registration was current according to sticker on plate! i wanted to be sure of my purchase and moreso that i wasn't buying a stolen car i as usual used mckees! i text them the plate information (including a photo), with vin#, sellers info, all pertinent information! i asked for them to quote me exact fees to register my name in ca. i was told they will get info from dmv and they responded via text message (which i have), quoting me around $110. i decided based on this information to buy the car a few days later. i went into mckees on the day of purchase and was told they didn't calculate something right and now my info is in system and im on the hook with dmv for $707 penalty fees! i asked and repeatedly called asking why? how? and specifically reminding via in person meeting, text and calls! i kept all texts! reminding them of their original written quote and the fact i had no clue the registration was not current how could i? tags and plate show a current sticker, that they themselves confirmed as current before i bought it! they either have absolutely no clue what dmv will or will not do or they lied to me forced me to pay $600 i didnt have to pay, according to dmv and stated by dmv website! the reason i used mckees was to save me time and looking up this stuff and use of dmv access for accuracy since i never bought used cars always thru dealerships! i was not able to smog for a while because it would not pass smog (my problem not theirs). however after paying the fees i didn't have the $400 to buy a ca cat converter to pass smog! still contacting them to update constantly asking how i get dmv to refund fee that previous owner may or may not owe again tags r current! i learned thru the ordeal that the seller is responsible for pass smog within 90 days of sale or it is not a legal sale! regardless if you buy as is! it must pass smog or sellers are illegally offing the car! i learned that not only did mckees either lie or fail to know and neer bothered to ask and didnt care to attempt to save a customer money by saying when i asked hey we dont know! instead they insisted upon knowing it is never an option to request dmv waive fees based on current tags and buyer having no knowledge of fees owing! i filed a few complaints will update when i know how it ends! so far they admit fault refund their fees of $79 but refuse to reimburse the over $500 i still paid unnecessarily! i mentioned its like having an oil change and they forget to put in oil, leaving the place your engine blows! is it ok to just refund the oil change fees and make you buy the new engine? no! I ENDED UP STANDING IN LINE WITH DMV AFTER ALL AND WAS GIVEN 3.075 Waiver of Fees and/or Penalties (CVC §9562) EXPLAINING I QUALIFY FOR A WAIVER BUT, DMV SAYS NOT ANYMORE ONLY UPON PAYING FEES! **MCKEES is no more than a courier between you and DMV! THEY LIED TO ME! DIDNT HONOR THEIR OWN QUOTE! THEY CONTINUED STRINGING ME ALONG TELLING ME "DMV WILL NEVER ACCEPT AN APPEAL BEFORE ALL FEES ARE DUE AND ONCE FEES ARE PAID AND CAR PASSED SMOG THATS WHEN I CAN TRY TO ASK!FOR REFUND BUT NOT LIKELY TO GET IT!"

They have the nicest employees. I've been doing business here for many years and have never had any problems. That lady Bridgette that works at the counter is the nicest of them all!!!
