- For most of my professional life I have been a generalist, meaning that I treat a wide range of mental health concerns. However, I specialize in couples therapy and see married and unmarried couples as well heterosexual and same sex couples. “generalist” therapist. This means that I have treated a wide range of concerns and therefore have experience in dealing with many problem areas. The list below is not inclusive in terms of the people I have seen but gives you a flavor of my areas of competency. I should also note that problem areas frequently overlap. For example, trauma and PTSD often go hand in hand with depression and relationship issues. What I will do for you is spend time together to work out the best treatment strategy for your particular area of concern. Because I think systemically, this can involve either individual or couples/family therapy.
