I had Phil out to look at 5 large Oaks on a property on Oakhurst rd we are in the midst of purchasing. The oaks all needing a lot of trimming as they were somewhat neglected for the past few years. He was right on time and very pleasant. After looking closely at each tree he gave me two separate write ups and went over each of the thoroughly with me. One was an in depth description of the state of the trees and the other was an estimate I requested in order to help with the negotiations on the home purchase. He took his time in answering my questions and going over the documents. All and all he was at the property for about 75 minutes and I had no problem at all paying the $50 fee that I was also made aware of when I set the appointment. I highly recommend him.

I only gave one star because this site requires it to post a review. Mr. Turner seems to care more about the $ than saving a tree. His recommendation was that our Oak was diseased and needed to be removed and charged $50 for this erroneous advise. However, he was kind enough to provide a $50 coupon toward the inflated estimate that he provided for the removal. After seeking a 2nd opinion we were told there was nothing wrong with the tree and that it only needed to be trimmed. No fee and the estimate for removal (just in case) was < $1000 less than the proposal received from Mr. Turner. So, what to do with two differing opinions - let the Pinellas County arborist be the deciding factor. Her opinion - nothing wrong with the tree, no disease and only needed to be trimmed. Need I say more.

The customer was concerned about a major limb falling from tree. She was told in advance there was a $50 evaluation fee. I told her sudden limb drop is fairly common in summer time. Some causes are unknown and some have been assoiated to fungal diseases. She was adamant she wanted the tree removed. I told her a permit was required and gave her the number to contact Pinellas County for application for removal. If approved I gave her a referal for a company I have used in the past. Some people hear only what they want to hear. Need I say more.
