We've been taking our dog here for doggy daycare for many years and highly recommend! Also great for boarding the dog when needed. Can't say enough about this place!

I URGE EVERYONE taking their PET to Advantage Pet Center at 11510 66th Street, Largo, FL 33773 to READ THIS:

RE: GOOD LUCK GETTING A COPY OF ADVANTAGE PET CENTER LIABILITY INSURANCE OR THE GROOMERS LIABILITY INSURANCE. THEY ARE UNWILLING TO PROVIDE A COPY TO ME AND MY CAT PASSED AWAY ON THEIR PROPERTY DURING GROOMING.

I have asked the newest general manager on site at Advantage Pet Center "Brooke" for a copy of their Liability Insurance. I was told by Brooke: "We are a corporation and there is nothing we can provide to you. My next question to Brooke was: "So if a pet is either INJURED or PASSES AWAY while at Advantage Pet Center, there is nothing Advantage Pet Center can provide to me showing Advantage Pet Center has insurance?" Brooke replied again with "We are a corporation. There is nothing we can provide to you." My next question to Brooke at APC: "Do the groomers at Advantage Pet Center carry their own personal liability insurance?" I received the same response from Brooke: "We are a corporation and there is nothing we can provide to you."

I would like to know what type of insurance because Advantage Pet Center is unwilling to provide me with a copy of their insurance. How can Angie's List state Advantage Pet Center is "Insured" when I cannot get a copy of their insurance? I have contacted Angie's List regarding this matter. Advantage Pet Center is unwilling to provide a copy. Do they have Insurance? Do they carry Liability Insurance as a Corporation or do the groomers have their own Personal Liability Insurance? IF so, what is the "effective" date of the insurance?

My cat passed away at Advantage Pet Center, July 2017. APC will NOT provide me with a copy of their insurance.

WARNING TO ANONE TAKING YOUR LOVED ANIMAL TO THIS PLACE!!!!! My cat went for a grooming Wednesday, July 12th, 2017 at 10am. At 1:30 p.m. I received a call from Bruce stating my 6 year old cat had PASSED AWAY during grooming. I have spoken to the regional manager (Denise) and she is uncooperative at best. (According to Denise, basically I'm making more out of this than it really is) I don't see it that way since I no longer have a cat. My cat was 6 years old and had been groomed there eight times previously. However last Wednesday something went horribly wrong. I've been told by the regional manager when my cat started to panic so they put him into a no heat dryer cage for 1 hour to calm down. These are the questions I have asked APC employees and Denise at Advantage Pet Care Center:1. Why wasn't I called when my cat became panicky or obviously when you knew there was something wrong? I live 5 minutes away and I would have picked up my cat and taken him immediately to the vet. 2. Why was my cat put into a (no heat but with fans) dryer cage for 1 hour to calm down? My cat had a large travel cage he should have been put into, something familiar instead of a dryer. 3. Why doesn't Advantage Pet Care conduct incident reports when an animal passes away at their facility?4. When my cat was dying in the dryer cage was there any pet-tech sitting by my cat to make sure he was okay? Obviously not, because my cat passed away.5. Why can't I speak to Nick the groomer to find out what truly happened to my cat?A necropsy report was conducted at my veterinarian's office and it was determined my cat died of a heart attack. The report also indicated my cat's heart was too small for its Maine-Coon body. I understand this now but what I don't understand is the lack of compassion or why I cannot get answers to my questions above. If you truly love your pet you will reconsider taking your pet to Advantage Pet Center.** They advertise they are BBB accredited and they are NOT accredited. They also advertise Ann Stewart as the principal/owner... this is also false information/advertising. This company was sold by Ann Stewart to Pet Suites back in December 2016. (The company information is public record on Pinellas County official records.)

I recommend this boarding facility without hesitation. I have an older dog (12 y.o.) who has been going to Advantage for over 9 years now. They have always been great with him, treat him as if he were their own, and the facilities are top notch. Our younger dog who has fear/overprotective issues towards anyone outside the immediate family has been boarded here as well. She starts off scared and displaying fear aggression towards the staff, but they take her in, spend time with her, and by the time I pick her up she's happy and friendly towards the staff members.

The old say, home away from home, we would say that Stephanie and all the staff at APC in Largo Florida where the best in all aspects, concern, professionals, go the extra mile to please our dog with outstanding Customer care, we highly recommend them because they love their jobs, they do understand the rewarding of a happy tail and a completely satisfied client. We highly recommend them, and I feel sorry for the other client that post one star, it's not APC and their staff to be blame about his dog problems, there are so many factors involved. All the best ! on our next trip to Florida we definitely use your facility !

During my dog's stay at Advantage Pet Center, my dog experienced Gastric dilatation volvulus, otherwise known as Bloat or Twisted Stomach. There are many causes for this, but the key one is eating/drinking followed by exercise, playing, lots of movement, etc, which I believe was the case at Advantage Pet Center, based on comments from the APC staff and the fact this happened under their care. Sadly, GDV / Twisted Stomach is very deadly and must be caught immediately. APC did notify us that our dog had vomited and that we "might want to come and get him", but there was no special sense of urgency nor suggestion of a visit to the vet. Well, upon picking him up, it was clear something was wrong...it was like a different dog. Long story short, he had an emergency surgery and lived through the surgery, but died 4 days later from Pneumonia (common side effect of the surgery, especially if not treated immediately). On December 4th, 2013, I lost the most loyal, humble, noble friend I have ever had, Alexander the Great Dane. To make matters worse, the cost for this was $11,000 (excluding the fee that APC charged me). It is my opinion that APC did not purposefully kill my dog, but it doesn't matter, he is gone and my wife and I spent a significant amount of our savings trying to save him. It goes without saying that I strongly recommend you consider another pet boarding center.

I highly recommend Advantage P...

I highly recommend Advantage Pet Center in Largo, Florida. This was the first time we ever boarded our dog so I was nervous. I made an unscheduled visit to the Advantage Pet Center to get a tour of the facility. Ann showed me around and gave me a detail description of what my dog would experience while being boarded. Ann took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. I was pleasantly surprised how very clean the facility is - from the reception area to the kennel/boarding areas. We took our dog to experience Advantage Pet Center Doggie Daycare to see how he liked it. I know he loved doggie daycare because the next time I asked our dog "Do you want to go to doggie daycare?" My dog got excited and we couldn't drive fast enough to get there. LOL The day came to drop off our dog to be boarded. Our dog was excited and didn't look back. :) The staff told me I could call anytime to see how my dog was doing. The love and attention the entire staff gives to their furry clients goes above and beyond. I will continue to use Advantage Pet Center for Doggie Day Care and for boarding.

Nice facilities, friendly, caring employees.

I travel frequently and have been boarding my dog here for about a year. The owner and staff are very friendly and seem to genuinely care about the pets. The facilities are great, with large kennels and play areas. My dog loves it there, and doesn't hesitate to run right in every time I drop him off. Rates are reasonable as well.
