We were given wireless hotspots as a temporary fix for the internet issues that have continued for several weeks now. The high speed internet was supposed to have been fixed 5 days ago but have had heard nothing about it. The hotspots give us internet speed in the ~300 kilobits per second range which is just plain unacceptable for "luxury student housing." Beginning to wonder if we'll ever have high speed internet here!

Gates don't work and never have so the gated community selling point is a fallacy. The hot tubs are empty and have been since I moved in.

I am going to give you a peak at behind the scene at The Pointe. First, this property always has been and will continue to be a struggling property. Criterion 3 has a tendency to bring in low experienced managers that can barely keep a float, very limited support. They teach there staff the 'correct' things to say to pacify a resident. They do manipulate residents and say the right things and get them at the end of their lease, if the property does not look better than what it did before you move in you will be charged for cleaning, carpets, painting, repairs at 300% or more the cost. The air conditioners will not work the majority of the summer because they are to small for the the apartments, not charged fully (which you could be charged for), they freeze up all the time. The Internet will always be intermentant because it is satellite, and if you've lived here the winters are cloudy and stormy which effects satellite. And if you have any outstanding bill over $10 your Internet will be turned off.
Finally, many if noy all 5 star reviews that come through in groups is because management is having a contest to get as many reviews as possible. Those who give the reviews are given gift cards for positive reviews and the staff member who gets the most wins any where from $200 or more.
Parents, students beware of what you are getting into, do your research, look at the reviews that are 3 and lower, they are speaking the truth.

I moved to the Pointe in January of this year and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It's a beautiful, and great place to live. The amenities make it more than worth way what you pay in my opinion- and I have never been apart of such a friendly apartment community. The staff has been more than helpful and understanding of my needs. Much appreciation from this loving resident.

Management and the staff are very rude and unprofessional. The people at the desks just sit there and wait until they are done with their conversation or ready to take a break from their homework and even then it seems like a great burden to a resident.
Now, living spaces. The apartments are some of the largest in Laramie but it takes maintenance forever to complete a simple work order. We needed a new water filter and it was finally completed after 2 weeks. The hallways and stairs are absolutely disgusting! They always stink and are stained, even after they have them "cleaned".
The events this year have been ok, clearly last year management and community assistants put more time and work into them,

Please, please don't live here. I had mice and cockroaches. My apt had a hole in the ceiling, with insulation hanging out of it, this was still there as of 8-5-16 when I moved out. Was told by management that, they would get to it, when they get to it. Was told from other residents that the holes in the ceiling was normal. There are huge cracks and holes located through out my unit. There is dog crap located everywhere throughout the property. Multiple times I saw their maintenance workers, drinking and smoking dope on sight while working. The hallways are beat to hell and smell like piss, crap and puke. They over charged me on electric for 4 months in a row. Was told when I was moving to stay cause there under new management, which is a huge lie. Worst place I have ever lived.

I've lived here for a year and actually its pretty nice. They had a new manager come in recently and its much better. I like all the free food and the movies. My apartment is huge so it works well for the four of us. I'll probably stay next year. Honestly, you can't find anything else any better in this area.

I signed my lease in the fall of 2015. I have been very impressed with the experience!

I put in a work order yesterday for my apartment and today (next day) the maintenance crew came and completed the work! Very impressed!

The facility is brand new (2 years). I cannot say enough about the apartment, the place is fully furnished, appliances stainless steel, has balcony, its been hands down the best place I have ever rented. We were even given a plasma tv when myself and 3 buddies signed our lease last spring. The Pointe also has modern study rooms on campus, gym, shuttle running to and from school multiple times within the hour, pet friendly and business centre. They also recently reduced their rates making this place an even more attractive buy. I signed yesterday to renew for this fall! Great experience, I will say paying a little more at this place(comparitive to others in Laramie) is definitely worth it and you will see why. Great experience. Recommend to everyone!

one headache after another

This place is horrible. They can make you move with 48 hrs notice. Fine you for things that you have nothing to do with. Cable never works. Internet never works. Pool aND hot tub never work. Buildings with very loud tenants who party all hours of the day. The staff has no clue how to manage apartments nor do the address issues with things are brought to their attention. I cannot warn people enough about not moving there. Don't let all the frills blind you for what this place really is. One HUGE HEADACHE.

Internet and other issues

So FINALLY after nine days there is a TEMPORARY solution to have internet provided - but it's crawling right now!!!!!!!! Supposedly another three days until a permanent solution is in place. Not at all happy and this is only one of the problems at this complex. I have yet to see a working hot tub, can't have a gated community when there are no gates, and good luck finding a parking space close to your building, especially on a Friday or Saturday when it is party central here!!

While reading with interest the reviews of The Pointe at WYO, I must say that as someone who works for the company that owns the Pointe, I was pleased with the reviews for this year. All are good, accurate, and make me feel like the Pointe team, both local as well as corporate, are accomplishing the goal of making The Pointe the best college student living experience in Wyoming.

However after reading the review from "Hector H" I felt compelled to reach out to him and try to work through some of the issues he noted; but there has never been a Hector H at The Pointe, so that let's me know that this must be a disgruntled former employee, an evicted resident or possibly someone afraid to address their issues. If it is the latter, please drop me a note so we can make this better. I will say every issue is addressed immediately, there is more than enough parking BUT we do tow if someone parks in a handicap identified spot, so I assume this is what our frightened reviewer was speaking of. The hot tubs and pools have operated and you can view pics of them being enjoyed by residents if you go to our facebook page; they are closed currently because we are looking for a more appropriate place to dispose of the water from these amenities, so we can help keep our local indigenous wildlife healthy and happy. I was there last week and I had was able to get both wifi as well as plug in internet-I know this has been a challenge and as a company we are working on this. Sporadic is not a good solution so we are finding a long term solution to the internet issue-in the meantime anyone can use the computer labs that are located in the clubhouse.

"Hector" if you feel you need some assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks again Pointe people, and good luck in class!

Terrible Management

Internet which is supposed to be included does not work in almost every building. The management refuses to address the issue saying they will get to it soon and that we should be patient. Parking is a mess and the gates do not function. Again management refuses to address the issue. Hot tubs are next to the clubhouse but have yet to have anything but mud and rainwater in them. Again management refuses to address the issue. Terrible place to live, shady management, and poor amenities.

Get 3rd floor!!

We paid the extra for 3rd floor and the views are awesome. So are the vaulted ceilings. Plus they let me take my xbox down to the movie theater and play with my roommates.

I love my apartment, my roommates are super chill, and it's so awesome they have a shuttle to campus when school starts.

Love my 2nd year at The Pointe

I renewed and stayed for a second year. I enjoy everything they offer. It took some time, but everything is installed and my apartment is huge! Plus all the free BBQ's are awesome and we had a slip n slide just a few weeks back. I really enjoy the movie theater too for my video game night!

Best place in Laramie!

The Pointe is amazing. I've enjoyed everything about it since I moved in during March timeframe. Maintenance was slow but has picked up with new staff. Love the hot tub and fire pit!

If you go to the website for this place and looked at the photos it would suggest that we have a pool, pond, clubhouse, and movie theater...But, in reality none of those things exist. There's still bulldozers and other construction vehicles at the complex, but we still don't have one amenity. They finished the retaining wall literally a month ago, that's how behind this complex is and they still allowed people to move into it.

The leasing office which should be in the clubhouse is literally inside one of the apartments because the clubhouse is still under construction.

Our air conditioning doesn't work properly, and the windows are drafty. This causes a lot of overages on our electricity cap.

We have one entrance that can fit one car at a time, so you have to wait for your turn to pull into our parking lot...or you can use the dirt path that floods every time it rains or snows. Our "main entrance" is still a pile of rubble with barricades.

We don't have mailboxes yet, but they'll tag you in a Facebook post if you have mail so you can come pick it up like some ridiculous mail call.

Oh, and they're increasing rates next lease term.

Looks nice and new but all the amenities they promise you is a joke. They were so behind on construction I couldn't even move into my room i had already paid rent for till a week later and when I was able to our dishwasher, air conditioning, & dryer did not work and our bathroom cabinets were not installed. Our clubhouse that houses all of our amenities (pool, hotub, tanning beds, etc.) that were promised to us is still not complete now 9 weeks into our lease and wont be complete for another two weeks according to management. Furthermore I am woken up to the sound of construction EVERY DAY. We STILL do not have a main entrance and therefore our address is not valid and we cannot have our mail sent through amazon or ups. The Pointe management has done NOTHING to compensate their residents for any of this which I find the most irritating. They have also announced they will be raising rates $100 dollars a month next year. You will not get your money's worth.
