Since it was opened in 1981, Antelope Valley Bank has introduced several of the banking industry s modern concepts to the valley, including weekend business hours, the valley's first ATM and branch offices in supermarkets. The bank operates branches in Lancaster, Acton, Frazier Park, Palmdale, Quartz Hill, Rosamond and Wrightwood, Calif., all of which are open Monday through Saturday. These locations offer a variety of personal and business banking solutions, such as checking and savings accounts, money market accounts, certificates of deposit and online banking, as well as lending services, including home mortgages and consumer loans. Antelope Valley Bank is a division of California Bank & Trust, which operates a statewide network of nearly 100 branches.

AV Bank, Lancaster Blvd. branch continues to hold cash deposits made on Friday’s, usually prior to 9:30 AM, for processing until Mondays to acquire unethical NSF fees. The Customer Service Representatives at 800-400-6080 indicated that cash funds should be immediately available, despite the day of week or time the deposit is made, provided the deposit is made with the drive up teller and going into the bank. Three times, with fees in excess of $50 on each occasion, all funds were completely reimbursed, with plenty of apology, but not without having to provide proof (receipt: thank the Lord I kept the receipts), customer service representative's assistance at 1-800-400-6080, traveling to ‘home bank location’ and excess stress. In addition to fees being unethically charged, now three months of bank statements indicate I am financially irresponsible. I will admit that due to current circumstances, I do maintain a low daily balance; however, this does not justify AV Bank of Lancaster not following protocol. Honestly, I think they are doing what they can to collect fees that many consumers can not verify (not everyone maintains efficient records) or will not fight to have returned.
