You don't have to be a pizza connoisseur to agree that Old Chicago pizza is not only boring, its plain bad. The sauce they use tastes awful like its right out of a can. The crust on the normal-style pizza is gross! I don't mean the crust that some pizza eaters leave behind, or eat with honey, I'm talking about the entire dough structure... awful man! Their deep-dish I can't comment on because I've never had it (This Chi-town transplant wouldn't dare!) They have mediocre appetizers - I really like the Italian Nachos.

Once in a while, you'll get some high-speed server that's really good. But in my vast experience, most Old Chicago's are the epitome of big-chain apathy and this one is no different. They have lazy, inexperienced wait staff seemingly trapped in a hostile work environment and perpetual clueless hosting (the host should at least be High School-aged, and definitely not geriatric). Every single time I walk in the door with a group of people, the process of getting from the front entrance to a table is somehow marred by unnecessary confusion and chaos. Like we walked in to annoy the kids working there. That's just bizarre. I've been to this location about 20 times in as many years.

My advice: Go to Old Chicago to drink with friends and watch sports, order some appetizers and stay in the bar area only.
