My initial 5 star review of UDC was while under the direction, dedication and strong leadership of Jennifer Davis. It was a totally different studio 3 years ago than it is today. No regrets for time already served there. It was just another stepping stone and learning experience in my daughter’s dance journey and in life. On to the next level. People should just know that things can and often DO change and not always for the better. It's real easy to earn those 5 stars but keeping them is another story. I'M TAKING MY STARS BACK.

Things changed drastically. What once was my safe haven soon transitioned into a place that was no longer pleasant to be. 3 years ago this place was a 5 star hands down but now I can't even say they are worth 1. All good things do come to an end. I used to hold the teachers there at a very high regard but now they are just a huge disappointment. Best words to describe a few of them are fake, immature, deceitful, and mean. It’s sad when you witness firsthand, ADULT faculty, directors in fact, engaging in online bullying on Instagram of former students and encouraging and rallying their current students to do the same. This activity doesn’t seem to convey the “uplifting, supportive, and motivating environment” that UDC advertises to be on their website and the one it used to be when I first started going here. These team DIRECTORS should be setting a positive example for their students past and present and should NOT be engaging in or encouraging ANY name calling, taunting, or bullying to ANY students past or present. If you take your child there just for dance fun and not to advance, then that’s the place for you. If your child is looking to continuously grow and be challenged, then you may want to check around. During my last year there I can best describe most of the classes as boring and predictable. Same lessons, same methods, and all together stale learning environment. I was no longer feeling challenged. There is no real defined since of levels in their class structure. Beginner and Intermediate level dancers are too often mixed in with advanced level dancers. I craved growth and challenge and wasn’t receiving it there. I have no regrets for the few years I spent at UDC. I learned SOME dance skills and A LOT of life lessons. I learned that people aren’t always what they seem, and so many can't be trusted. Teachers/mentors, I thought I could trust let me down big time. Their true colors are now clear. It’s ok though because I’m stronger for it. UDC was just another steppingstone in my dance training. On to the next level. People should just know how things DO change. UDC was once a great place for me but now, in my opinion it’s a toxic environment and I would think twice about enrolling. It's easy to earn 5 stars on a review but keeping them is another story.

My daughter danced at another studio in the area for 7 years. The best decision we ever made was coming to UDC 1 year ago. The students are given love, respect and encouragement no matter what level of dance they are at. My daughter has grown so much because of that. Jenn, Freddie, Kayloni and Jessica have a genuine passion for what they do!

Named “Best in Dance” for a reason!
After leaving another dance studio with both my girls we landed here but it wasn’t by chance. It is because we did our research! These owners want you to dance for them, and your school, and your community! They aren’t scared or selfish, they want your child to pursue all of their passions.
Professionally trained instructors!! Amazing instructors! Amazing dance families as well that all support each other. The most friendly knowledgeable front desk lady you’ll ever meet! Great kids! Centrally located! It’s the only choice in Lakeland! UDC!❤️

Instructor does not show up for class and does not inform student until they get there that there will be no class. In the last month they canceled 2 classes out of 4.
